Over the years, infidelity has been one of the most popular themes among teleseryes. Although we abhor it in real life, there’s something with unfaithfulness being portrayed on the screen that strangely excites us and makes us want to watch it even though the philandering spouse and the paramour are already getting on our nerves.

And in this feature, let us revisit some of the most riveting and remarkable confrontation scenes in Kapamilya teleseryes wherein the legal wife/husband caught his partner and his/her lover being together or in the act of doing something adulterous. 

Tessa catches Caloy and Marga in bed together, Pusong Ligaw

While being cheated on by your partner is already painful, what more if it’s your best friend with whom he or she is illicitly involved with? That’s what happened to Tessa, played by Beauty Gonzalez, who is in total wreck after she catches her boyfriend Caloy and her best friend Marga, portrayed by Joem Bascon and Bianca King, respectively, sleeping together in bed.

Instead of being apologetic or remorseful for what she did, Marga even blames Tessa and tells her that she must ponder on her shortcomings as a partner, so it is she who just gave it to Caloy. Those who were able to watch Pusong Ligaw (2017) would know that their betrayal didn’t just result in them having a baby, but also them getting married. 

The intense clash between Irene and Clara, Tubig at Langis (2016)

There’s indeed nothing more painful to a wife than seeing her husband with his mistress. But what’s more agitating is when the other woman has the audacity to tell the legal wife that she would go to great lengths in order to take the man away and to admit that they had sex right on her face.

Take for example this scene from Tubig at Langis (2016), wherein Irene (Cristine Reyes), catches her husband Natoy (Zanjoe Marudo) with his kabit Clara (Isabelle Daza). The two might not be having an intimate moment, but rather an altercation, yet just seeing them together was already enough to make her blood boil, more so when she exposes what they did the night before.

Toni sees Leandro kissing Cecilia, Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita 

Even though she loves her husband so much and doesn’t want their daughters to grow up in a broken family, Cecilia (Vina Morales) still opts to let go of Leandro (Christian Vasquez) in order for him to be with his assistant-turned-mistress Toni (Denise Laurel) and their child after having a one-night stand.

However, despite having a new family, Leandro’s heart still seemingly beats for Cecilia. In this scene from Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita  (2015), he can’t help himself from kissing her while he is about to leave after visiting her and their children. Unbeknown to them, Toni would make a surprise visit and see that moment. 

A heated argument sparked between the two women, with Toni reminding Cecilia about everything she for Leandro and their family, including the house where she and their daughters live, after she chooses to shoo him away when he was at the lowest point in life. As a clapback, Cecilia reminded her as well that she’s still a kabit since her marriage with Leandro is not annulled yet. Quite complicated, right?

The heated showdown between Emmanuelle and Sasha, Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon

Would you let your partner stay close to his/her friends, or would you ask him/her to stay away from them? While this question draws different opinions, it’s apparently the latter for Sasha (Maricar Reyes) as she vehemently confronted Emmanuelle (Bea Alonzo) after seeing her mingling with her husband Patrick (Paulo Avelino) in this scorching scene from Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon (2014).

Sasha accuses Emmanuelle of seducing her husband, which she firmly denies and tells her to not throw her insecurities at her. The former attempts to slap the latter, but Emmanuelle is able to catch Sasha’s hand and warns her not to try her patience. As Sasha runs after her in an attempt to attack her the second time, she once again fails as Emmanuelle is able to avoid her and it is she who falls off the swimming pool. Being the true palaban that she is, Emmanuelle further annoys Sasha, which indeed works.

Lino witnesses how Jade and Ace fool him, Halik

And lastly, who would forget this totally iconic scene from Halik (2018), wherein Lino (Jericho Rosales) catches his wife Jade (Yam Concepcion) kissing her paramour Ace (Sam Milby) at a bar? He manages to stay calm at first while weeping and even sits in front of them before confronting them. 

Lino throws punches at Ace until he loses consciousness, then vehemently asks Jade – who initially denies knowing Ace prior to that encounter – what he has done wrong for her to betray him.
