The teleserye has been known for giving us romance in many forms, from sweeping love stories to delightful  romcoms.  And vital to portraying these ideals of love, and getting people to tune in every single day, are their poster images headlining its lead actors.  This love month, looks back on some of our Kapamilya series and stars and how at first look they had already captured our hearts.

Walang Hanggan (2012)

Poster pa lang, wagas na.  In the show that was dubbed as “phenomenal” because of the massive TV ratings it raked in, Coco Martin and Julia Montes were literally the picture of a perfect couple.  In their  posing, Coco as Daniel is amorously fixated on his lovely lady love Julia as Katerina.

Precious Hearts Romances Presents Martha Cecilia’s Kristine (2010)

Poster pa lang, busog na.  Steamy passion abounds in the image of this teleserye befitting the popular roamantic pocketbook franchise it was adapted from.  Desire is the name of the game.  Shirtless leading men Zanjoe Marudo and Rafael Rosel are intimately locked in almost-kisses with their partners sirens Cristine Reyes and Denise Laurel.

Be Careful With My Heart (2013)

Poster pa lang, feel-good na.  Many variations of the show’s poster have been put out but the chemistry between its two leads Richard Yap and Jodi sta. Maria is so appealing that even apart, the image exudes of the the lovable boss-employee romance that is at once aspirational and relatable. Even now that their characters Sir Chief and Maya have ended up happily married, somehow their first relationship is a kilig reminder of how everlasting their union can be.
Lobo (2008)

Poster pa lang, intense na.  Angel Locsin’s first teleserye as a Kapamilya was also one of the most ambitious projects of ABS-CBN.  Featuring the supernatural element  of werewolves, Lobo’s poster depicts Angel as the wolf girl Lyka and the ultimate hearthrob Piolo Pascual as Noah in a tender embrace inside a howling wolf figure.  Another poster version has the stars set over a full moon, but this one creatively and passionately captures both the romance and the mysticism of the high-rating program.

Got To Believe (2013)

Poster pa lang, kilig na.  Young love and vibrant romance is the promise of the wildly popular Kathniel love team and whatever project they star in.  The poster image of their series Got To Believe matches that to the delight of many fans.  Engaged in playful but stll pretty poses, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla as Chichay and Joaquin effortlessly cast a love spell on those who dare to believe in the magic of kilig.

My Girl (2008)

Poster pa lang, happiness na.  At the height of their loveteam as Kimerald,  Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson dominated the teen scene.  In their second teleserye together adapted from the hit Koreanovela, cutie Kim stands in the poster’s foreground as bubbly Jasmine while Gerald as the dashing Julian stands in the middle, out to melt her heart.  When will Kimerald fans melt again to see their idols back together on TV

Pangako Sa’Yo (2000)

Poster pa lang, hulog na.  And of course who can forget the first soap opera tagged as a teleserye, the widely popular and genre-defining Pangako Sa’Yo which boosted the stardom of Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa.  As Angelo and Yna, their inverted-kissing-while-lying-down pose seems to promise viewers a heaven of romance.
