On “KrisTV’s” Kapitolyo food trip today, Kris Aquino, together with Bianca Gonzalez and Liz Uy visited Café Juanita, a restaurant memorable for its dazzling chandeliers bought from different countries by its owner, Dr. Efren Boy Vasquez.
Kris and her guest co-hosts indulged in the café’s famous dishes such as the Crispy Spring Rolls that’s made of Vietnamese wrapper, Kare-Kare, Baked Tilapia, Crispy Pork Binagoongan, Fried Lapu-Lapu with Tamarind Sauce and Rellenong Manok, among others.
Their next stop was Three Sisters, a restaurant that specializes in affordable pork barbeque, which only costs P35 for it’s generous serving on a stick. Aside from a demonstration on how they make their barbecue, Paul Pike, the owner also gave out tips on grilling. Kris, Bianca and Liz also feasted on Sinigang na Kanduli sa Miso, Pancit Bihon, Chicken Barbeque and Inihaw na Liempo, that Kris specifically loved.
Afterwards, they went to another restaurant, Ninak, which specializes in Asian comfort food. Ninak is “kanin” spelled the other way around, thus, the restaurant showcases different Asian rice cuisines. Owners, DJ and Quito Jose prepared Nasi Goreng, Chicken Satay with Peanut Butter Sauce, Bagoong Rice, Tinapa Rice and Malaysian Laksa. They also served refreshments such as the Green Grape Basil Slush, Watermelon Lychee Slush and Berry Mango Slush. The women enjoyed a sumptuous dessert called Turon Halo Halo.
The Kapitolyo Food Trip continues tomorrow, September 5, on “Kris TV,” after “Umagang Kay Ganda.”
