Kris is back in the “KrisTV” studio with Melai Cantiveros and Ai Ai Delas Alas to share her Holy Land pilgrimage with Josh and Bimby. Guest co-host, Ai Ai, also went on the same tour last February 2012 with Bro. Bo Sanchez and the rest of the Kerygma team.
Kris and her children, together with other close friends, went on a Holy Land pilgrimage in remembrance of Kris’ late mother, former President Cory Aquino’s 4th death anniversary last August 1. To take Kris and her children to the Holy Land was what Mrs. Aquino wished to do when she was still alive but never got the chance to do so.
Their tour’s first stop was in Jerusalem. Together with their official tour guide, Shafik, they first explored Mount Olives where Jesus was said to have taught the Lord’s Prayer. Then, they went to the Garden of Gethsemane and Basilica of Agony.
After their trip to Jerusalem, they went to explore the town of Bethlehem where they visited the Good Shepherd’s Field where the angels announced the birth of Christ and later, had an Israeli lunch at Grotto Restaurant. Of course, they did not miss the Nativity Church, the exact place where Jesus was born and later moved on to the Milk Grotto Church and the Elijah Church.
For their third day, they explored the town of Nazareth where they visited the Church of the Annunciation, Church and Workshop of St. Joseph and the Cana Catholic Wedding Church where married couples can renew their wedding vows as this was the same place where Jesus did his first miracle at the Wedding in Canaan. They also went to see the village where Jesus grew up, the Capharnaum and to the Sea of Galilee where their lunch was St. Peter’s Fish or tilapia and rode an ancient boat to get the full experience. The Church of Multiplication and the Mount of the Beatitudes are also among the places they saw.
On their fourth day, they went to the old city of Jerusalem and visited the Jerusalem Archeological Park, St. Anne’s Church where Mama Mary was born, the 14 Stations of the Cross, the Church of Visitation and the Church of John the Baptist. Kris especially appreciated the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where the 14 Stations of the Cross lead to, for it is believed to be the place where Jesus was crucified and laid to rest.
For the last day of the tour, they went to the Notre Dame Church, Our Lady of the Covenant Church and Tel Aviv, the modern town of Jerusalem where their final destination was the Church of St. Peter.
