For this week, “Kris TV” will feature personalities with thriving online businesses. Today, it featured Tunying’s Bread, Anthony Taberna and wife, Rosell’s bakery.
According to ABS-CBN journalist Anthony Taberna, whose nickname is Tunying, their family business based in San Antonio, Nueva Ecija started in 2002 even before he got married. “Gusto ko kasing itulong to sa mga kapatid ko. ‘Di ba nasa Maynila ako tapos yung mga kapatid ko nandoon sa probinsya, eh wala namang nakatapos ng kolehiyo doon maliban sa akin eh. Kaya sabi ko, kailangan mayroon kayong sarili niyo, hindi yun abot lang ako ng abot tapos ubos na,” said Anthony. Currently, Tunying’s Bread, which is available online, for pick-up and for delivery, offers a variety of bread such as Sputnik, cheese bread, loaf bread, Spanish bread, cookie polvoron and chocolate crinkles, as featured in the show. Anthony also shared that there is potential for their bakery business to develop further as it is registered as ‘Tunying’s Kape at Iba Pa’.
Later, the couple also talked about their marriage life, respective families, how daughters, Zoey and Helga cope in their Catholic school given that their family is Iglesia ni Cristo, and how they bond as a family despite Anthony’s busy schedule being a broadcast journalist. Anthony’s wife, Rosell is also very hands-on with their businesses as she also manages their salon located in front of ABS-CBN ELJ Building called, The Blounge and the events-organizing company, Outbox Media.
Later, Rosell shared their secret to a successful married life, “Ako, actually dahil nga sobrang busy nga, ako yung laging nagreremind. Yun naman ang usapan namin nun simula pa lang. Kapag ka mayroon nakakalimot na isa, masyadong nagiging busy, remind. Although minsan, yung way lang, minsan galit na yun pagreremind, so di ba dapat nagcocompliment. So ako yun, at saka siguro ‘yung religion, malaking factor sa amin yun, na talagang hindi kasi siya conservative.” Further, they said that they maintain constant communication daily.
Lastly, the Taberna couple joined Kris as she interviews LJ Moreno-Alapag regarding her business, The Lollicakes Factory. LJ, who admitted that the business started from her craving for lollicakes, will demonstrate tomorrow (January 30) how to make one.
