Two of the Philippines’ top comedians’ businesses get caught up in a recently discovered illegal process, as Ai-Ai delas Alas and Vhong Navarro’s characters on “Toda Max” are accused of taking part in a “pork barrel” scam in Beverly Gils this Saturday (September 7).
The top-rating comedy sitcom this week shows Justin (Vhong Navarro) and Ate Van (Ai-Ai delas Alas) setting up an eatery by Justin’s trike wash. The two decide on this strategy because Justin and Isabel (Angel Locsin) rediscover their dreams of going abroad to work, as Justin’s interest in becoming a chef returns with Angel’s pursuit in nursing.
As Ate Van scouts for pork that she can use for the eatery, she meets Madam Junette Mapoles (Janice de Belen) who owns PDAFF Meat Shop. There, Madam Mapoles sells “pork barrels”, or imported frozen pork meat that comes in wooden barrels. Though “pork barrels” might help Ate Van’s business with Justin, it turns out that the distribution of these products are illegal. Aside from that, they are also a health hazard—making use of double-dead pigs.
The community of Beverly Gils finds out about Ate Van’s encounter with Madam Mapoles—and because they know about what a “pork barrel” really is, they accuse her and Justin of being part of Mapoles’ “pork barrel” scam. Did Ate Van accept Madam Mapoles’ offer? Can she and Justin get out of this dilemma?
Find out on “Toda Max” this Saturday (September 7), airing on ABS-CBN Channel 2 after “The Voice of the Philippines”.
