ABS-CBN launches Mga Kwento ng Pasko, seven online episodes that pay tribute to its Filipino audience worldwide by showcasing inspirational stories of real people and granting their simple joys.
Danie Cruz, Creative Account Manager of Creative Communications Management (CCM) Corporate said that, “It’s more of paying tribute to our audience yun eh… Sana ngayong pasko, mabigyan mo naman ng kasiyahan yung mga ordinaryong Kapamilya who go about their lives pero who have dignity of work, fight their own illness… Ang focus ay itong mga taong ito inspirasyon natin sila, and what better time to give back than on our 60th anniversary na Pasko…” Furthermore, she shared that it was the celebrities who chose their specific beneficiaries for the activities.
Two Kwento ng Pasko webisodes launch today, October 25, as it feature Bet on Your Baby host and Pinoy Soap Opera Queen, Judy Ann Santos’s visit to the Women’s Crisis Center. Judy Ann specifically preferred to help abused women, especially having played one in her teleserye, Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.
One of the county’s hottest love teams Kim Chiu and Xian Lim returned to the family that Kim once lived with in Isla Pulo when she was a contestant on the reality show, I Dare You two years ago.
Another Kwento ng Pasko webisode talks about a habal-habal driver from Cebu who wished he could have a grand Noche Buena with his family. Actor Enrique Gil, being a Cebuano himself, traveled all the way to the province to fulfill this father’s wish.
Piolo Pascual surprised Gemma Solomon, an Overseas Filipino Worker in Hong Kong, and paid a visit to the rest of the Pinay workers there. Gerald Anderson, who is a soldier’s son, went to San Francisco in the US to surprise a Fil-Am veteran by sending him a video of his family in the Philippines. Sam Milby serenaded a married Filipino couple in San Francisco who were celebrating their golden anniversary. John Lloyd Cruz helped a Star Magic security guard who was diagnosed with Secondary to Malignant Melanoma.
When asked if the webisodes will be featured on Philippine TV, Kathrina Sanchez, CCM’s Creative Account Manager said, “…our original intention is for the web lang pero since it’s a good project at may potential talaga siya, we will definitely find airtime for that.”
The seven webisodes are part of the much-awaited Christmas Station ID of the network this year, to be launched on November 6.
