Broadcast journalist Doris Bigornia plays fairy godmother to a 72-year-old streetsweeper who only wants to be given an overall makeover tomorrow (Aug 6) in “Mutya ng Masa
While exploring Las Pinas, Doris runs into a group of streetsweepers. Lola Fanny, one of the oldest in the group, catches Doris’ attention with her jolly demeanor and unique fashion sense despite having to deal with her aging eyes and muscle pain. For her, streetsweeping does not only help her and her family get by, but is a much needed form of exercise that keeps her healthy.
When Doris asks her what she truly wants, Lola Fanny says she only wants to get made over in a salon because she hasn’t experienced it. Doris also accompanies Lola Fanny for an eye check-up and gives her surprise goodies.
Doris also grants the wish of young basketball players by bringing them to the training exercise of PBA team Rain or Shine. There, the kids get to bond and even play basketball with their idols.
