Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has proven the old adage that third time's the charm. Prior to representing the Philippines to the international beauty pageant, she tried her luck three times in the local Bb. Pilipinas competition. She first joined in 2013 when she clinched the First Runner-up title and then again in 2014 when she was one of the 15 finalists. This year, she was finally crowned the Binibining Pilipinas crown and is on her way to representing the Philippines on Monday morning for Miss Universe.

But before taking the world of pageantry by storm, Pia was already under the limelight as the actress Pia Romero—her screen name. After being part of ASAP at a young age, she made her way into television drama through the teen series "K2BU" (2002) and was starred alongside Shaina Magdayao, Bea Alonzo, and Angeline Aguilar. Her next TV project was "It Might Be You" (2003) starred by John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. She was also part of the sitcom "Bora" (2005) with Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo, Jericho Rosales, Bernard Palanca, Carlos Agassi, Roderick Paulate, Luis Manzano, Dennis Padilla, and other famous comedians.

Her other TV stints include "Sa Piling Mo" (2006) starred by Judy Ann Santos and Piolo Pascual and four episodes of Maalaala Mo kaya: "Birth Certificate" (2011), "Stroller" (2011), "Komiks" (2012), and a Christmas special (2013) with Connie Reyes.

She also appeared in films such as "Kung Ako Na Lang Sana" (2003), "All My Life" (2004), and "All About Love" (2006).

Pia's other passion is culinary arts. She finished her secondary education at ABS-CBN Distance Learning School in Quezon City and studied at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies in San Juan, Metro Manila. At present, she is a stylist and beauty writer for Inquirer Lifestyle’s 2bU section. In a Gandang Gabi Vice guesting, Pia revealed that her secret to maintaining a sexy and healthy body is going to the gym everyday and maintaining a diet of boiled eggs, chicken breast, and broccoli.

With a long experience in the spotlight, it is without a doubt that Pia Wurtzbach will represent the Philippines with pride on Monday.
