Netizens blown away by Jodi’s savage performance and the intensity of The Broken Marriage Vow trailer

The Broken Marriage Vow trailer will give you the most arresting three minutes of your life!

ABS-CBN Entertainment recently unveiled the full trailer of its much-awaited teleserye The Broken Marriage Vow headlined by Jodi Sta. Maria together with Zanjoe Marudo, Sue Ramirez, and Zaijian Jaranilla. And netizens can’t keep their calm, completely obsessed with the tasteful confrontations, stunning cinematography, and every bit of intriguing detail in the series. Watch their amazed reactions in this edition of Kapamilya React!

If you were a fan of BBC drama “Doctor Foster” and its Korean adaptation “The World of the Married,” you already have a background of The Broken Marriage Vow’s  plot. It tells the story of a doctor finding out her husband’s illicit affair and all sorts of betrayal around her, and how she’d rise above these events.

But, we tell you, the Filipino adaptation is going to be more explosive that you’d feel the ‘gigil’ piercing through your core. “Ibang iba ‘yung character dito ni Jodi doon sa Korean adaptation and even on the original Doctor Foster. Mas palaban siya dito.”

With her reputation as a dramatic star who takes scorned characters to a more intense, bone-chilling level, we have big expectations of Jodi’s performance in the show. Judging by her acting in the trailer, we can say the power actress is bound to get even bolder and better this time, as if the hurt is knitted to her own flesh. Check out more comments from netizens:

“Pa-level up nang pa-level up ‘yung acting ni Jodi!”

“’Yung gigil ni Jodi! Gustong-gusto ko si Jodi talaga!”

“Ang mata ni Jodi, matapang!”

“Damang-dama ko dito si Jodi Sta. Maria. Feel na feel ko ‘yung emosyon niya, ‘yung hinananakit niya, ‘yung galit na nararamdaman niya sa asawa niya at sa kabit nito.”

“Ibang iba ang Jodi. Ang galing!

“Pinatunayan na naman ni Jodi na isa siya sa mga pinakamagagaling na aktres sa panahon natin ngayon.”

In the trailer, we get a glimpse of how Jodi’s Dr. Jill Ilustre would turn the tables after unearthing evidence of her husband, David (Zanjoe)’s affair with Lexi (Sue). It highlights pivotal scenes including the birthday party where Jill discovers a cellphone hidden in the compartment of David’s car, David and Lexi secretly holding hands at the party, David blandly denying his affair to Jill, the dinner scene where Jill revealed the secret affair to Lexi’s parents, as well as snippets of Zaijian’s character as Gio, the son caught between his parents’ marital problems.

“Gigil si Zanjoe, ‘yung character niya! Wala raw babae. Sure ka diyan?”

“Sinungaling pa!”

“Ay! Matapang rin si Sue dito. Bagay sa kanya ‘yung character as Lexi.”

“Grabe ‘yung pagbatok ni Lexi ah!”

“Ang powerful ng cast – Jodi, Zanjoe, Zaijian, Sue. Saan ka pa? Ang galing!”

While annulment is the most empirical option, Jill would feel like there’s another alternative to rising above the hell she’s going through – by taking revenge! To pull it off, the heroine would need a sidekick. Cue in mistress hunter Jane Oineza as Diane, who easily became everyone’s favorite character just by her short spying scenes in the trailer.

“Oh my God! Si Jane!”

“NBI ka, girl?”

Fans also noted Jodi’s killer fashion sense that showcases locally made pieces, as well as the stunning choice of locations in Baguio City.

“Ang ganda ng mga outfit ni Jodi dito, very Filipino… yes, Pinoy designs. Loud and proud!”

“Ang ganda din ng mga costumes! Sobrang angkop talaga siya sa Benguet which is napo-promote din talaga ‘yung tradition ng Benguet.”

“Pak! Ang ganda ng ng cinematography! Ang ganda ng Baguio!”

More than the visuals and scathing lines, the soul of the series, of course, is the story that somewhat sparks viewers’ moral reasoning about the dangers of cheating and reminds them how to deal with it gracefully.

“Mahirap makapangasawa ng career woman, oo, pero siguro naman hindi iyon lisensya para sa isang lalaki na mangaliwa, na mambabae.”

“Niloko ka, wala kang kaalam-alam. Alam mo ‘yung rage, ‘yung vengeance na ‘paano ko lalabanan to?’”

Three minutes and viewers are already brought to an endless cascade of emotions, so much so it makes the whole drama more exciting.

“Trailer pa lang binibigyan na tayo ng ABS-CBN ng satisfaction. Paano pa kaya ‘pag napanood natin siya as a teleserye talaga?”

“Hindi ako makapaghintay na ipalabas sa TV ‘to.”

“Aabangan ko talaga itong The Broken Marriage Vow.”

Also in The Broken Marriage Vow cast are Joem Bascon, Rachel Alejandro, Art Acuña, Angeli Bayani, Bianca Manalo, Empress Shuck, and Susan Africa. Watch out for its premiere this January 2022 on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
