#LDR? How to Make it Work Despite the Distance

For a month now, we’ve been seeing tons of “I miss you” messages on our news feed—especially among lovers. That, plus photos coupled with the caption ‘Love in the Time of Corona’. If you’re one of them, we feel you! The separation anxiety is as real as it gets, which is why we rounded up ways to help you go the distance.

1. Work on improving yourself.

Take this time to be the better version of yourself. It could be as simple as meditating, or reading self-help books. You see, bettering yourself will help you be more rooted and independent. Ultimately, it will help your relationship thrive as well.

2. Manage expectations.

Being away from each other can be really tough, so you have to be on the same page. Tbh, the last thing we all need is an LQ, so schedule video chats ahead of time, stick with it, and respect each other’s need for time alone.

3. Send audio clips.

Now, this might sound cheesy, but trust us—it will surely put a smile on your [insert endearment here]’s face. Right after waking up, send a sweet voice clip to help brighten up his or her day. You can also do this nightly, making him or her your last thought before you go to bed.

4. Create a list of things to look forward to.

If you really think about it, each day spent apart brings you a day closer to finally seeing each other again, so hold onto that. For the meantime, make a list of things you are most excited to do after the ECQ. By the time all this is over, you can tick them off one by one—together.
