Loveteams debut onscreen appearances

Kapamilya loveteams have long captured the hearts and brought unmatched kilig in their many appearances on TV and movies.

These stellar tandems have not only become incredibly successful in their marquee pairings making them household names, but they have also taken quite a lofty stature in Pinoy pop culture.

But before achieving this, your favorite Kapamilya love teams had that first project together that began their phenomenal rise in the industry and drew a dedicated following that had shipped them through the years. Here are the Kapamilya loveteams and their debut projects together wherein they first exuded their undeniable onscreen chemistry.

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla have proven their decade-long prominence as the “King and Queen of Hearts” in showbiz. But people first saw their tandem in the afternoon youth-oriented series Growing Up in 2011, wherein fans started to ship them. And before the show concluded, it was learned that Daniel started to woo Kathryn and eventually they became a real-life couple.

Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, on the other hand, were first spotted together in their cameo appearances as third wheels in KathNiel’s launching film “Must Be…Love.” After a scene wherein a passing Liza stunned a mesmerized Enrique, their online chemistry has since been discovered. This led to LizQuen’s first lead roles together in the teleserye Forevermore that made them inseparable ever since in hit teleseryes and movies, and in real life. They also had admitted being a real-life couple since Forevermore ended.

For Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan, no, they didn’t first appear together on the blockbuster and trending series He’s Into Her. DonBelle actually had made observers see their potential as a loveteam in the 2020 movie “James & Pat & Dave.” This led to their sensational pairing on He’s Into Her in 2021 that made the popularity of their loveteam skyrocket.

Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon, on the other hand, were first teamed up when they were both housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7. But they had their first drama together in the 2017 teleserye The Good Son.  Their loveteam, McLisse, has since drew an immense following and appeared on numerous dramas, and eventually their first project on the big screen as lead stars in “Sakaling Maging Tayo.” Their onscreen romance had since turned real, and have since become parents to their baby girl Felize McKenzie, a milestone they revealed in November 2021.

Meanwhile, Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte first appeared together onscreen in the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Fantastica,” although they had launched their careers separately as individual artists. After their “Fantastica” team-up, LoiNie’s on and off-screen romance led to several projects together in both teleseryes and movies. They had recently celebrated their fifth year anniversary as a real-life couple.

Kim Chiu and Xian Lim began their adorable, hit appearances together in the 2011 teleserye My Binondo Girl. That same year, Xian admitted his courtship of Kim after rumors circulated about a blossoming relationship. But since then, they had been a popular tandem appearing in many top-rating teleseryes and box-office hit movies before Kim revealed her real-life relationship with her constant leading man in 2018. Their last appearance together was in the 2020 teleserye Love Thy Woman.

The current hit tandem of Andrea Brillantes and Seth Fedelin first hogged the spotlight in the 2019 teleserye Kadenang Ginto, wherein they drew overwhelming ships from fans. This led to their phenomenal Gold Squad hype, sparking many other projects together. SethDrea had recently concluded their primetime inspirational teleserye Huwag Kang Mangamba before headlining their breakthrough movie “Wild Little Love.” They are currently starring in the series “Saying Goodbye.”

Just like SethDrea, the loveteam of Francine Diaz and Kyle Echarri began their rise in Kadenang Ginto. But in addition to their breakthrough pairing in the popular series, KyCine had their debut digital film the same year, “Silly Red Shoes”. They joined their fellow Gold Squad loveteam SethDrea in the 2021 inspirational drama Huwag Kang Mangamba,
