They say happiness is a choice, and life is what we make it. Despite it being a crazy couple of years and the future being uncertain, there comes a point where you just decide to take each day as it comes and claim it to be the best day ever. 

This is the winning mindset that hairkada Maris Racal has, and she shares it with fellow ‘Hot Summer’ co-star Kira Balinger.

‘Hot Summer’ is Star Magic’s 30th anniversary special, and it’s all about celebrating one’s self. Maris and Kira are living the life in beautiful Baler. Mixing work and play as they bond with the rest of the show’s cast, these girls are determined to have their #bestsummerever!

While they are there for work, Maris and Kira managed to squeeze in some girl time in between takes. In one episode, they decided to do an impromptu bag raid to check out what each one’s summer must-haves are. 

Kira went first, gamely digging into her bag and sharing its contents. She pulled out health essentials like a face mask, wet wipes, and her vaccination card. Small as her bag is, Kira has stuffed it to the brim with a bunch of other things such as a bottle of mouthwash, lipstick, glasses, charger, pen, house keys, and driver’s license. Already anticipating the summer heat, she also has a bottle of deodorant and a handkerchief. 

“Syempre pag pinawisan,” she shares. “It goes hand in hand!”

Maris laughingly shares that her bag also has a ton of things inside. 

“Parang ang daming emergency na pwedeng mangyari, tapos walang tutulong sa’kin,” she says. 

She first pulls out a huge make up pouch with all her make up essentials. Then, she pulls out extra brushes and make up again! 

Maris also has a breath spray. 

“Ito yung pampabuhay ko sa taping,” she claims.

Maris also pulls out a bottle of men’s perfume. 

“Favorite ko pabango ng lalaki,” she admits. “Kasi mas matapang. Kumakalat talaga. Tapos pag dumadaan ako, lumilingon ‘yung mga babae!”

Maris admits that’s just a bit of what she usually lugs around with her, because she also has another bag full of other things. 

To cap off their girl talk, Maris surprises Kira with another bag.
