In the mid-2000s, ABS-CBN treated its viewers to an almost never-ending kilig fest through the launch of Precious Hearts Romances Presents, a weekday narrative program featuring the adaptations of the best-selling paperbacks distributed by prominent pocketbook publisher Precious Hearts Romances.
It indeed had a noteworthy initial run from May 4, 2009 to April 5, 2013 and showcased 18 romantic stories throughout its four seasons, which were starred by some of the brightest stars of the network at that time. It made an exciting comeback five years after through the 2018 afternoon dramas Araw Gabi and Los Bastardos.
And just in time for the forthcoming Valentine’s Day celebration, ABS-CBN Entertainment will let us relive four of the remarkable stories that made our hearts flutter by streaming their full episodes on its official YouTube Channel throughout the month beginning on February 14 – You’re Mine, Only Mine, Lumang Piso Para Sa Puso, Love Me Again and Mana Po.
You’re Mine, Only Mine

The seventh installment in the Precious Hearts Romances Presents series, You’re Mine, Only Mine was headlined by Denise Laurel and Will Devaughn and was helmed by acclaimed director Jerry Lopez-Sineneng. It followed the story of Roxanne (Denise), who was used by her father as a “collateral” for the Php 10-million loan he had from Alex (Will). She was initially against their arranged marriage, but Roxanne eventually fell in love with him as they lived under one roof together.
Lumang Piso Para Sa Piso

Another part of its “Quikilig: Maiikling Kuwento ng Pag-ibig” special episodes was Lumang Piso Para Sa Puso starred by real-life couple Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Boy Sotto and directed by Laurenti Dyogi. It chronicled how the love story of their characters Sandra and Dave, respectively, started because of a coin. Strapped for cash, Sandra sold the antique coin she unearthed from her dead grandma’s belongings to coin collector Dave. It was a case of “hate at first sight” for them but she brushed it aside, assuming that she would never see him again.
However, Sandra began dreaming of her lola, who’s upset because of what she did, so she was compelled to return to Dave to buy the coin back. As he firmly declined, she decided to break into his shop together with her best friend one night but they failed. He later on agreed (thanks to her aunt), but in one condition – she had to be his personal maid for two weeks. As they spent more time with each other, they began to fall in love and not even their admirers could get in the way.
Love Me Again

The ninth installment of the whole series, Love Me Again amused us with the love quadrangle among Precy (Valerie Concepcion), her ex-boyfriend Chad (Tom Rodriguez), Chad’s new girlfriend Pauleen (Cathy Remperas), and Precy’s brother Donnie (Johan Santos) who was dumped by Pauleen.
Being the overprotective ate the she was, Precy decided to meddle with her brother Donnie’s relationship with his ex-girlfriend Pauleen, who broke up with him for another man. She later on found out that her new boyfriend was Chad, who used to be her beau in their younger years.
Precy saw this as a perfect chance to avenge her brother by letting Pauleen get a dose of her own medicine as she attempted to seduce Chad and steal him from her. However, he was no longer the same man who used to be very in love with her, so it became a huge challenge for her. As time went by, she found herself not doing it anymore for Donnie, but for herself as she had already fallen in love with Chad.
It was directed by Jojo Saguin and Ruel S. Bayani.
Mana Po

Helmed by Katski Flores and Theodore Boborol, Mana Po was the 14th narrative of the long-running series and was starred by reel-and-real sweethearts Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco. It followed the quirky love story of childhood sweethearts Brandi and Milo, whose relationship was marred when her dad betrayed his father by keeping the latter’s winning sweepstake ticket and claiming the hefty prize.
Brandi’s family lived a luxurious life since then, while Milo’s family still lived a simple life at their home province. As his conscience prodded him, Brandi’s dad finally revealed the truth and finally corrected his mistakes by giving everything that he owned to Milo. This made her upset and determined to fight for her right to their assets by making him fall in love with her.
