Daniel Padilla heads to Italy Incognito

The weather might be changing constantly—literally—but Daniel Padilla is more than ready to dive into some high-octane action in his upcoming teleserye, “Incognito.” By the looks of the preparations, his grand comeback is set to deliver some serious 'pasabog.'

Daniel recently flew to Italy to shoot for “Incognito,” which he topbills alongside Richard Gutierrez. The show also boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Ian Veneracion, Kaila Estrada, Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings, and Baron Geisler.

This is definitely a refreshing shift from his last series, “2 Good 2 Be True,” which was a full-on rom-com. Daniel jokes that he has a lot of catching up to do since his co-stars, Richard and Ian, are already in top form after their last project, “The Iron Heart,” which tells the story of a secret agent on a mission to topple a dangerous crime syndicate.

But there’s nothing to worry about because his fellow actors are incredibly supportive, and everyone on set is a true professional. “Ako ‘yung naghahabol ngayon sa kanila. Buti na lang mga kaibigan ko ‘yun na tunay, so inaalalayan din nila ako,” Daniel said of Richard and Ian. Besides, he's grateful that ABS-CBN and Star Creatives have brought in skilled trainers for them. Before the official taping began, the cast spent two months training for action and fight sequences, particularly in handling firearms.

“Talagang pinaghandaan dahil ayaw nating magmukha na nagpapanggap lang. Gusto natin totoo lahat,” he shared.

While Daniel got a taste of action in “La Luna Sangre,” he’s bringing an entirely fresh vibe to the table with “Incognito,” especially for fans who know him best for his romantic and dramatic roles. So far, he’s been enjoying every bit of the process and feels he's really starting to embrace the action genre. It's not surprising, though, since action practically runs in his veins, as he hails from a clan that boasts a lineup of action stars.

Daniel and the rest of the cast are gearing up for a two-week stay in Italy, with non-stop filming on the agenda—“Bakbakan lang nang bakbakan.” If they get a break, it might just be a single day off. But if he gets the chance, he would love to revisit Rome, his favorite spot in Italy.

The plot and other details about “Incognito” are still tightly under wraps, but the first teaser shows the cast wielding rifles and wearing bulletproof vests, which has fans buzzing with anticipation. Daniel appreciates the enthusiastic support from his followers, which only heightens his own excitement for what's ahead.
