The world of local pageantry had witnessed the inception of a bigger and bolder Binibining Silka 2023 in partnership with ABS-CBN.
After the series of regional competitions held in different parts of the country, twelve candidates advanced to the national stage where they vied for the title. Central Eastern Visayas’ Katherine Topsnik stood out with her extraordinary ‘kinang’ and clinched the coveted crown in the hugely successful Grand Coronation Night last October 29 at the New Frontier Theater. The final competition was live streamed on Kapamilya Online Live and MOREntertainment, with a delayed telecast on A2Z.
The months-long search was truly a fulfilling and memorable experience for all 12 candidates as they dabbled in noteworthy pre-pageant activities such as a tour around the Cosmetique Asia Corporation manufacturing plant in Bulacan and a special appearance on the ABS-CBN noontime program It’s Showtime.
During their visit at the Silka Plant, they were able to witness a behind-the-scenes look at the intricate production process of Silka skincare products. The girls entered and introduced themselves one by one and received a warm welcome from the Silka executives and employees.
Donning proper work attire from lab coats to hair nets and shoe covers, the queens toured around the Silka manufacturing facility, with Mr. Sherwin Vaflor, Cosmetique Asia Corporation Manufacturing Director, briefing them about the safety protocols. The ladies sure had an amazing time with the employees who mentored and introduced them to the art and science of making Silka products.
Arguably the most exciting part was being able to experience how Silka soaps and lotions are packed with its signature ‘alaga’, each product bathing women and their families with skincare, confidence, and well-being.
The visit to the Silka Plant was an inspiring and educational experience for the queens, as they fully immersed themselves in the brand’s philosophy of providing ‘alaga’ and enhancing every Filipina’s ‘natural na ganda’.
The festivities didn’t end there as they also guested on It’s Showtime where they had the opportunity to introduce themselves to a wider audience. Graceful in their every move, they flaunted their radiant smiles as they opened the segment dancing to the Binibining Silka 2023 official theme song “Kumikinang,” which was composed by ABS-CBN Music Creative Director Jonathan Manalo and recorded by Angeline Quinto and Kritiko.
Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda interacted with the girls, who impressed with their wit in a quick Q&A portion.
These activities not only showcased how the candidates radiate the Silka brand of beauty and confidence, but also forged solid sisterhood among them. And at the end of their journey, they all learned to emulate Silka’s philosophy to embrace true ‘kinang’ that glows from within and embody the kind of ‘alaga’ that creates positive impact not only on themselves but on their community.
