She currently rends our hearts and fills our evenings with inspiration and delight through her portrayal of Mira in the inspirational primetime drama Huwag Kang Mangamba. But before we get to see her as the innocent and kindhearted girl deemed by the people of Hermoso as miraculous, Andrea Brillantes has already played various roles throughout her 11 years in showbiz.
And in the previous months, she brought two of her most iconic roles to life by putting on their signature looks and demeanors in two of her recent vlogs – Marga Mondragon from the highly successful 2019 afternoon soap opera Kadenang Ginto and Annaliza from the 2013 remake of the 1980s television series Annaliza, which were both starring roles.
She first transformed as Marga for a day last March, donning her trademark look that comprised of her long and silky black hair, posh Maxwell school uniform, and resting bitch face. She started by looking for the luxury bag gifted to her by her friend Ivana Alawi since she’s going to school. But her Ate Kayla, who was holding the camera, stopped her and told her that she couldn’t do so since there’s a pandemic and the whole country is under community quarantine.
Marga began to get hysterical, especially when her Ate Kayla asked her to do household chores – from cleaning the house and doing the laundry, to preparing her own food. She also went on to call her friends Maureen (Bea Borres) and Nica (CJ de Guzman), her mother Daniela (Dimples Romana), her aunt-slash-rival Cassie (Francine Diaz), and Mikoy (Seth Fedelin), who were all very much game in riding on her trip.
And last month, Andrea gave us major nostalgia as she transformed for a day into her breakthrough role Annaliza, which bestowed her the 2013 PMPC Star Awards for Television's "Best Child Performer" accolade, while her Ate Kayla depicted her wicked step sister Arlene. She didn’t only dress up inspired by the wide-eyed little girl, but also did the things Annaliza used to do in the drama – cooking food while singing and dancing to the hit of ASAP’s UD4 “Sige, Ikembot”, cleaning the house, and washing the dishes – while her sister was jestingly pestering her.
“Arlene” also went on to ask her to look for their beloved pet dog Chewy, with their Mommy Belle eventually joining them as they recreated the scene wherein Annaliza’s stepmother Stella (Kaye Abad) cast the poor child out their home. The vlog ended by showing some of their droll bloopers, mostly did by their mom who couldn’t help but laugh as they filmed the last scene.
