“Lethal Weapon” captivates viewers with action-packed, fun-filed plot with a heart

Saturday nights are definitely funnier and more action-packed as viewers tuned in to the first three episodes of ABS-CBN’s Tagalized version of hit US series “Lethal Weapon” that features the adventures of LAPD police officers Martin Riggs (Clayne Crawford) and Roger Murtaugh (Damon Wayans).

Since it premiered weeks ago, “Lethal Weapon” has been winning the ratings game against its rival program, according to data from Kantar Media. It hit a national TV rating of 16.7% on its pilot telecast last June 10, 16.3% last June 17, and 14.1% last Saturday (June 14) compared to its competitor, which only scored 11.7%, 9.2%, and 8.8% respectively.

Aside from the action, laughs, and thrill, the show captivated viewers with its narrative’s heart. Many netizens were moved when Martin lost his wife and unborn child to an accident and how he is trying his best to cope and continue living his life without them.

“Lethal Weapon just made me cry #LethalWeaponOnABSCBN,” said @mayangtv.

“I almost teared up when Martin Riggs was holding his partner’s baby. A chance taken away from him #LethalWeaponOnABSCBN,” said Twitter user La Fabila.

“It can make you laugh and cry at the same time! I hope it also airs on Sundays #LethalWeaponOnABSCBN,” said @BheccaEcca.

Netizens also said they felt for Roger, who wants to do his best to welcome Martin into his household and become part of his family.

This week, an unknowing Roger unfortunately enters the home of an enemy pretending to be an ally. How will Martin save his partner from danger?

Don’t miss “Lethal Weapon” Saturdays, 9:45 PM, after “MMK” on ABS-CBN.
