Earlier tonight, Darren Espanto embarked on his first digital concert, “The Other Side of Darren”! It promised to be an intimate and enjoyable show with the Darrenatics, as his fans are fondly called, and it sure did not disappoint. Here are some of tonight’s highlights!
That explosive opening number!
Darren performed Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling” for his opening number! Right from the start, he gave us his trademark energy, his unbeatable voice, as well as a couple of dance moves along the way! Judging by the screaming, we bet fans loved his performance.
Interaction with fans
In between songs, Darren was able to read sweet messages from fans that were watching from around the world. They also sent in dares for Darren to do, which included singing the PPAP song with his tongue out and dancing with Andrea Brilliantes. Two lucky fans even got the chance to have 20 seconds of eye contact with Darren himself!
Collaborations with Darrenatics
As winners of our online contests, Darren was able to collaborate with some Darrenatics! Kate Fernando got to duet with him on “Stuck,” while Alecs Marasigan, Vernie Candare, Kaye Tumonong, and Nathaniel Porcalla got to show off their moves (and even teach some to Darren) to a Fetty Wap track.
Duets with Morissette
The night’s special guest was none other than Morissette! They performed a touching rendition of Ebe Dancel and Regine Velasquez’ “Makita Kang Muli.” She later on performed “Throwback” as Darren took a short break, and again joined him later on as he performed Meat Loaf’s “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That).”
And of course, the fans!
This digital concert wouldn’t be possible without you! Fans had nothing but full support for Darren as he conquered yet another milestone in his booming career. In the studio, we heard a barrage of cheers and a choir that sung along to every word of Darren’s songs. Online, there were thousands of tweets from fans all over the world. Thanks to you for having #OneMusicDarren on the top trending spot nationwide!
