One of the tropes in a teleserye is the age-old catfight scene. Such can comprise of endless cussing, inevitable slapping, and even hair-pulling. One can even remember the classic put-down "you're nothing but a second-rate, trying hard copycat" of the character Lavinia Arguelles (Cherie Gil) from the phenomenal TV drama "Bituing Walang Ningning" (2006).
Of course, the teleseryes of today have their own unforgettable catfights between the show's annoying antagonist and pitiful protagonist. Here are just some of them:
1) Clara vs. Irene: Tubig at Langis Tubig at Langis follows the plight of Irene (Cristine Reyes) and Clara (Belle Daza), both loved and betrayed by Natoy (Zanjoe Marudo). In an encounter at the grocery, Clara pointed out that she's the mother of Natoy's child even if Irene is his wife on paper. Hair-pulling and slapping ensued.
