Diva Showdown through the years in ABS-CBN Christmas Special

They say that the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. Every year, the ABS-CBN Christmas Specials feature the best and most talented singers in the country together in one production number. Today, let us look back at the vocal showdowns through the years.


R&B Princess Kyla and ASAP Birit Queens Klarisse de Guzman, Angeline Quinto and Morissette entertained the audience with Whitney Houston’s “I’m Every Woman” and Madonna’s “Vogue” while the Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga gave a noteworthy performance of Aretha Franklin’s “Respect”.


Sarah Geronimo performed a mash-up of Leona Lewis’ “Happy” and Pharrell Williams’ “Happy”, Erik Santos performed a mash-up of Mr. Mister’s “Broken Wings” and Fra Lippo Lippi’s “Light And Shade”, Lani Misalucha performed a mash-up of Madonna’s “Express Yourself” and Tina Turner’s “The Best”, Martin Nievera performed a mash-up of Queen’s “I Want To Break Free” and En Vogue’s “Free Your Mind”, Charice performed a mash-up of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” and Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”, while Lea Salonga performed a mash-up of Sara Bareilles’ “Brave” and Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful”.


International Broadway Diva Lea Salonga, Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha, Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs Angeline Quinto and Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo shared one stage and sang Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”. Sarah Geronimo then gave her own rendition of Barbra Streisand’s “People”, Angeline Quinto belted out Judy Garland’s “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”, Lani Misalucha sang Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge over Troubled Water” while Lea Salonga performed Barbra Streisand’s “Somewhere”.


The four divas also performed their own version of Whitney Houston’s “I’m Every Woman”. Sarah Geronimo and Angeline Quinto rocked the stage with Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” while Lea Salonga and Lani Misalucha sang a duet of Donna Summer and Barbra Streisand’s “No More Tears”. Sarah, Angeline and Lani also had a vocal showdown with Whitney Houston’s “Run To You” while Lea gave a heartwarming rendition of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You”. They ended their performance with Richard Harris’ “MacArthur Park”.
