Four new talents hailing from various parts of the country—Chiquerella, Hulo, Three Two One, and Cool Cat Ash—inked exclusive contracts with ABS-CBN’s rock/alternative label DNA Music.
Bulacan-natives Chiquerella—a fusion of the band vocalist’s name ‘Chique’ and must-be-home-before-12 midnight-Cinderella—said they are hoping to grow musically under the label.
On the other hand, Hulo, a band consisting of brothers Joven, Joshua, and Aaron from Puerto Galera, said that signing under DNA Music has motivated them to create more beautiful songs. “We’re more inspired than ever to make more songs now that we’ve signed under DNA Music,” eldest of the brothers Joven said.
Meanwhile, Tarlac-natives Three Two One—whose name is inspired by the quantitative divisions of the members before they united as one band—promised to offer a different flavor to their music especially that all six members of the band can sing.
Finally, solo artist Cool Cat Ash, whose ‘Mataba’ song puts positive self-image in the spotlight, expressed enthusiasm in producing more hip-hop/rock songs. “There are not many hip-hop/rock OPM songs right now, and especially since my music’s theme is body positivity, I hope to inspire more people like me," she explained.
These new talents are now part of DNA Music, a record label under ABS-CBN Music which aims to uphold the local bands industry and nourish the musicality of gifted rock and alternative artists.
