Be still, our #NashLene hearts! January 11 was a big day for us fans because after a long time, Nash Aguas and Sharlene San Pedro team up again, this time in an iWant original movie about giving the gift of true love. So before (or after!) streaming this tear-jerker for free on iWant, check out the best #NashLene moments we just adore!
Their loveteam began at the same time they kicked off their career in the local entertainment industry as adorable child stars. Fresh from their unforgettable and triumphant stint in the first season of the now-defunct talent search Star Circle Kids Quest, where they finished as the first and second grand questors respectively, Nash and Sharlene’s joined the pioneer batch of Goin’ Bulilit in 2005.
Throughout the years of their stay in the gag show, they were able to develop and hone their acting prowess that paved their way to score roles (and even top-bill!) in some teleseryes and sitcoms, such as OK Fine Whatever (2005), Mga Anghel na Walang Langit (2005), Calla Lily (2006), Princess Sarah (2007), and Lobo (2008).
When they graduated and reached their teenage years, they parted ways to pursue their respective endeavors in and out of showbiz. It was through the 2013 teen comedy series Luv u when they had the chance to work again together, but were teamed up to two other young artists – Nash with Alexa Ilacad and Sharlene with Jairus Aquino.
Although the ever-loyal fans of their tandem have been incessantly shipping them ever since, their hopes and relentless support were finally rewarded when their respective loveteams shattered, fueling the clamor for them to be paired with each other again.
If you think that the teen suspense-thriller film “Class of 2018” was their first project together, well, you are definitely wrong. This is because it was recently revealed that “The Gift,” which is one of the newest movie offerings of iWant this year, had been in the works since 2016!
This teen romance digital flick tells the story of Cocoy (played by Nash) and Tina (played by Sharlene), two ill teenagers who met inside a therapy clinic ran by the character of Maricar Reyes-Poon wherein they’re both hoping to get cured from their ailments. From strangers to friends, these young teens’ ties get tighter each day as they find hope in each other in spite of their differences and weaknesses.
But is their precious “gift” for each other enough to heal them and improve their conditions? That’s for you to find out!
Don’t forget to stream “The Gift” for free via the iWant app (available on Google Play or Apple App Store)! You can also watch it now on iWant.ph. If the movie made you cry--use #iWantTheGift to let us know!
