In the game of revenge, the most cunning player gets the upper hand. It pays to know how to use the cards to one’s advantage. This is how Ellice (Iza Calzado) plays the game as she uses Jake (Grae Fernandez) to work on Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria)’s downfall, shown in these scenes from Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin.
Ellice didn’t like Jake since the beginning. Some condemn her reaction while others completely understand. After all, she’s the legal wife of Gabriel (Sam Milby) and seeing Jake, who she used to call a bastard, will only remind her of her husband’s betrayal. She even filed a Temporary Restraining Order just to keep Jake away from her family.
However, Ellice seemed to have turned over a new leaf. She suddenly lifted the TRO. It was followed by a series of warm encounters with Jake, with a hidden motive to gain his sympathy and eventually use their closeness to defeat Marissa.
Luck seemed to have chosen Ellice’s side when Jake turned out a perfect donor for Hope’s bone marrow transplant. She knew she had to treat him with kindness. There was a scene where Jake surprised Hope with a bouquet of flowers. Ellice granted him permission to drop by anytime he wants to, adding that she’s happy to see the half-siblings spend time together.
Asked why the sudden change of heart, Ellice feigned compassion towards Jake, saying she realized that he is a good kid. Not only did she gain Jake’s trust but she won Hope’s love all over again.
She started to stand in his defense. There was a scene where Ellice chided RJ (Karl Gabriel) for his arrogance and took Jake’s side. Ellice welcomed Jake to their family since. She would even act sweet and caring towards him like when she asked him to try their family’s favorite snack. When complimented for her softheartedness, Ellice said it’s also her duty to be a good mother to Jake. She asked him to start calling her ‘mom.’
There was even a time when she chose to confide in him. With tears in her eyes, Ellice opened up about her pain, telling him she’s feeling alone and tired. It turned out to be just a warm-up of a bigger ploy. Ellice asked Jake to come over to discuss something important.
Feigning kindness and vulnerability, Ellice kept the conversation dramatic and engaging. She made Marissa’s alleged wickedness be known to Jake. She said Marissa has been trying to take everything from her. Seeing that Jake was completely lured, Ellice then revealed that Marissa forced her to sell half of Cenidoza Pearls in exchange for Jake donating a piece of his bone marrow to Hope. Shocked and disappointed, Jake vowed to enlighten his mother. And that’s how Ellice thought she was closer to victory.
The conflict heightened as Jake and Hope decided to elope in a recent episode. So, don’t miss the next moves of Ellice and Marissa in Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, created by Dindo C. Perez and Julie Anne R. Benitez and directed by FM Reyes and Avel Sunpongco, airing every Monday to Friday on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
