After endearing us with his portrayal of the lovable and determined Gelo Marasigan in the recently-concluded teleserye Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, talented heartthrob Paulo Angeles makes our hearts flutter again through his newest project “Ampalaya Chronicles Presents: Me And Mrs. Cruz.”
And before we could all see it this coming March 26, DJ Jhai Ho recently caught up with him in Hotspot, wherein they talked about his latest stint, his experience on working with Ina Raymundo, his personal opinion on being in a relationship with an older woman, the wildest thing he did for love, his girlfriend’s reaction about this project, and his experience in working with the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano in Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin.
The latest installment in the iWantTFC Original Anthology Ampalaya Chronicles, “Me And Mrs. Cruz” is based on the spoken word poetry by Jerome Dawis from Mark Ghosn’s book “Ampalaya Monologues”. It will follow the story of Paulo’s character Caloy, a hardworking and talented delivery boy working in a flower shop who persistently brings bouquets of flowers to a mysterious middle-aged woman named Mrs. Cruz (Ina Raymundo), as per a certain Mr. Cruz’s request to their store.
While his family was very much happy and excited to find out that he would be working with the seasoned sexy actress, Paulo disclosed that he was initially nervous.
“Kabado ako, sobra. Everyday kong iniisip, kaya ko ba ‘to? Siyempre, Ms. Ina ‘yon e, ang hirap na titingnan mo ‘yong isang big star tapos look of love. Tapos ang mangyayari more on look of hiya ang makikita sa’yo. Para kang nahihiyang bata. Mas more on nahihiya talaga ako at kinakabahan kasi ‘yong spoken poetry ko, grabe isang scene ganito kahaba,” he imparted and went on to demonstrate the length of lines he had to memorize and deliver for a particular scene.
But through their conversations on the set in between takes, they’re able to eventually break the ice between them and shake off the shyness he felt towards her. He also couldn’t help but gush over her beauty, sexiness, and kindness in another recent interview he did.
When asked by the host if age matters to him when it comes to love, the 23-year-old talented revealed that he actually doesn’t mind if he would fall in love to a woman relatively older than him.
Aside from his family, Paulo related that his beloved non-showbiz girlfriend Kate Ludovice and her family are also very much supportive of his latest project. In fact, she’s been cheering for him ever since learning about it.
As their chat veered on his obviously active showbiz career and Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin was mentioned, he recalled an instance when he got truly amazed with how easy it is for veteran actress Maricel Soriano to be in character and prepare herself for their dramatic scene.
The interview wrapped up in the fun “Jojowain o Trotropahin Challenge”, wherein he was asked if he sees the Kapamilya actress whose photo was flashed on the screen as a girlfriend material or just a friend. Find out who are they and what his exciting responses were by clicking on this video!
