They say a mother will fight for her child no matter what. Thus, when you have two equally tough mothers caught up in their own and their daughters’ rivalry, expect scorching, no holds barred female showdowns.
In the Kapamilya series Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, we are treated to a nightly round of intense face-offs between two moms Lucing (Maricel Soriano) and Belen (Rita Avila), and here are five of the most intense, so far.
Let the battle begin with a fierce confrontation about betrayal. Belen provoked Lucing by rubbing in Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria)’s crime of trying to take Gabriel (Sam Milby) from Ellice (Iza Calzado). Known for her immaculate demeanor and patience, Lucing surprised us all when she refused to raise the white flag and managed to maneuver the fault-finding tactic to her resurrected nemesis. She pointed out Belen’s shortcomings as a mother to Ellice.
Lucing knew she had all the weapons to win against Belen, just a quick rundown of the latter’s dirt will end the game, so she threatened to reveal her infidelity. However, before that happens, Lucing found herself in a tricky situation as Belen accused her of attempted physical injury.
Belen knew falling from the stairs will put her in danger but she willingly took the risk to gain Ellice’s sympathy. Not only she’s able to win her daughter’s heart again but she victoriously tainted Lucing’s reputation and kicked her out of the Villarosa abode as well. The viciousness did not end there as she also had her enemy arrested.
Thanks to Marissa’s connections, Lucing was released from jail. Yet, the rivalry would only get more intense. The Pinedas and Cenidozas took their fight to a courtroom battle over riches, privilege, and vindication. Belen tagged Lucing as a cheater but the latter said they both know the truth, calling her a hypocrite.
