At the Sugawara Clothing’s annual bidding, Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria) makes a grand entrance, taking Ellice (Iza Calzado) by surprise, but not crashing down the latter’s fighting spirit. Ellice seems a winner as she boasts about Cenidoza Pearls’ strengths, citing longevity, quality, and service among others. However, in a shocking plot twist, Marissa’s La Sierra gets the deal. As the event comes to a close, a mysterious lady in red can be seen watching things in silence.
Ellice receives a call from a worried Nanay Lucing (Maricel Soriano) telling her Hope (Kira Balinger) has been missing. Ellice tries to contact Hope but to no avail. Gabriel (Sam Milby) receives the threatening news and tells Jake (Grae Fernandez) about it. With only one culprit in mind, Jake calls Charity Faith (Amy Nobleza) to ask for RJ (Karl Gabriel)’s home address.
Hope came with RJ to his house, oblivious to the possible danger lurking around. She falls into his trap and agrees to drink with him. She soon passed out, giving him enough chances to execute his plan. Fortunately, Jake arrives on time and saves Hope yet again. After knocking RJ down, Jake dashes to Hope and pulls her close, with hints of worry and love in his eyes.
Meanwhile, Ellice receives a surprising gift – the piece of jewelry her mother left but she unfortunately lost when she was a child. It comes with a note calling her “Pearly Shell,” just as how her mom would call her when she was young.
Ellice is distracted from her deep thoughts when Gabriel and Jake arrive with a wasted, completely devastated Hope. The scene turns into a dramatic confrontation as Hope vents out all her pain, showing her parents Marissa’s malicious post on social media bragging about Gabriel and Jake’s father-son moment and calling them her “happy family.” The truth still breaks her heart and she can’t get over the pain.
Ellice, with tears in her eyes, lectures her daughter about trust. She also tells Hope that their problem at home doesn’t grant her the ticket to ruin her life. Ellice embraces her grieving daughter while Gabriel and Jake are silenced by sympathy and shame.
