Young blossoming friendship is one of the many things that make teenage campus life more memorable. Jake (Grae Fernandez) and Hope (Kira Balinger) from Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin can relate to all the butterflies and excitement. And at one point in our lives, we all did, too! Relive the signs of a blossoming romance in this Kapamilya Toplist fromAng Sa Iyo Ay Akin.
The sheltered Villarosa heiress is now a young lady, no longer the fragile infant that needed everyone’s attention and care. As Hope slowly comes out of her shell, she meets Jake, the cool guy we all judged too soon.
It turns out that the rumoured heartbreaker has a heart of gold. After saving her from an asthma attack while they were stuck inside the library, Hope realized that Jake is a reliable guy with pure intentions. She handed him a classic book as peace offering and they both agreed to keep the friendship that was almost destroyed by nasty gossips.
Add to that the scene wherein he finally gave her the book that sparked their quarrel and bad impressions of each other. She hugged him out of joy and we knew he was elated. Hope cried tears of happiness and said she’s moved by their friendship.
They reminded viewers of how it felt to exchange late-night conversations with the person you like. There was that hint of embarrassment for accidentally tapping the heart button on a photo posted five years ago. Then there’s the kilig upon learning that your crush did stalk you on social media. There’s the anticipation while waiting for the other person’s response, and smiling ear to ear when the conversation turns longer. Makes up sweet dreams!
The meet-the-parents stage came sooner than expected as nothing could stop Jake and Hope from growing closer. That partnership for a project, belonging in the same organization, and a lot of common interests gravitate them towards each other.
Jake made a good impression on Hope’s father, Gabriel (Sam Milby), by bringing up his knowledge about architecture and just keeping it real. Ellice (Iza Calzado) also seems fine with Hope entertaining more friends. However, there’s someone from the Villarosa residence who appears too hard to please and that’s none other than Lucing (Maricel Soriano). There was a scene where Lucing pretended to watch an old series in the living room to keep an eye on Hope and Jake’s study session.
And when it was finally Hope’s turn to meet Jake’s mother, tension and kilig kept viewers hooked. He asked her on an official date before she left the place. While that scene ended with a cliffhanger, it was clear that Jake and Hope are starting to grow special feelings for each other.
The friendship appears to blossom beautifully until Jake learned the truth about Hope and the Villarosas’ connection to her mother, Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria). Will their mothers’ never-ending rivalry wilt their friendship?
