A teleserye confrontation is never satisfying without two equally fierce women exchanging ‘gigil’-filled dialogues delivered with bone-chilling emotions. It surely takes deep acting brilliance like what Iza Calzado and Jodi Sta. Maria serve viewers each night via trending Kapamilya series Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, so we rounded up the seasoned thespians’ most intense encounters as Ellice and Marissa in this Kapamilya Toplist.
The Cenidoza Pearls office often translates to Ellice and Marissa’s war zone. The montage begins with the scene where Ellice reprimanded Marissa for turning the office into Baby Jacob’s mini nursery. The owner didn’t like the idea of having an infant inside a place meant for business.
Later on, Elisse would have an inkling of Marissa’s motive which is to use the baby as a weapon to seduce Gabriel (Sam Milby), resulting in another loud office hullabaloo witnessed by some. Gabriel tried to meddle but him being the ultimate cause of chaos, failed to cut the root of the conflict. That’s why more female clashes ensued in the succeeding days.
Having more evil expertise, Marissa played the game by manipulation and projection. She fired the tried-and-tested “panunumbat” script away, crushing Ellice’s guilt. So, Marissa felt immensely dominant and victorious as she played with her erstwhile best friend’s emotions by narrating her sufferings from paying for a crime she didn’t commit.
However, it didn’t take long until Marissa’s elaborate plans are threatened by Ellice’s wise comeback. While Marissa’s schemes are bit by bit crushed by her love for Gabriel, the legal wife unearthed a series of dirt – Gabriel and Marissa’s betrayal, and the latter’s dishonesty in Cenidoza Pearls.
Ellice, taking a hold of the truth, became fiercer than ever. She learned how to fight back – first, in her imagination, later on, in the flesh. Last week’s episodes were totally satisfying as Ellice set a plan of her own vengeance as well. In a scene, Ellice arrived at Gabriel and Marissa’s lunch date uninvited, then, poured a bowl of soup on her rival after exhaling a ‘kabit’-killing dialogue. But it turned out as just a part of her imagination.
Ellice surely wouldn’t let her adversary win. So, she reported back in Cenidoza Pearls to take her throne, creating a smaller world among the show’s key players. That ‘kare-kare’ scene will surely go down in teleserye history as one iconic piece.
The rivals exchanged feisty innuendos during lunch break inside Gabriel’s office. The battle started with Ellice calling Marissa’s kare-kare dish “malansa” and then, adding, “Ang dami mo palang dinala, baka mapanis.” Of course, aware of how to play the game, Marissa clapped back with, “Hindi masasayang ang mga niluto ko. Itong asawa mo, mahilig ‘yan sa maraming ulam. Gusto niyan iba’t ibang putahe.”
In a succeeding scene, Marissa tried to embarrass Ellice by bringing in two cups of coffee, just for her and Gabriel. But the point still went to Ellice, for preparing hot tea which she knows her husband likes better. The silent competition ended with Marissa leaving the room defeated, with the two cups of coffee in her hands.
Dinner time at the Villarosa residence, with Marissa of course, Sonya (Desiree del Valle) once again provoked Ellice by rubbing in her unwise decision to report back to the office and low-key praising Marissa’s excellent works in Cenidoza Pearls. Marissa served some humble bragging on the table.
However, Ellice once again outshined her nemesis by dishing out a platter of fiery innuendos that almost made all the liars and traitors at the table choke in panic. “Hindi ba kayo ni Gabriel? At kung anu-anong milagrong pinaggagawa ninyo?” she asked.
