More than the plot itself, the well-played, bone-chilling confrontation scenes help Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin dominate the primetime landscape. Viewers just can’t get enough of the feisty encounters between rivals Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria) and Ellice (Iza Calzado), so we collated ten of their most golden face-off scenes in this Kapamilya Toplist.
Biting innuendos add excitement to any female showdown and our sharp heroines will never run out of those thrilling exchange. When Marissa resurrected after 17 years and revealed herself as the owner of La Sierra, Ellice stormed to her office to issue a warning.
Marissa feigned hospitality towards her surprise visitor. But Ellice couldn’t be fooled anymore, “Tigilan mo na ‘yang pagiging plastic mo because I’m ready to burn you and when plastic burns, it smells.” The equally fierce Marissa clapped back, “Mauuna kang mangamoy dahil buhay ka pa, sinusunog na ang kaluluwa mo sa impyerno.”
In the next match that happened during a special family gathering at the Villarosa abode, Marissa was backed up by Sonya (Desiree Del Valle) who kept on placing her and La Sierra on a pedestal. But Ellice didn’t raise the white flag even if Marissa and Sonya gang up on her. Her remarks about stealing and underhanded tactics heightened the tension.
The long unresolved issue between Marissa and Ellice’s respective mothers Lucing (Maricel Soriano) and Belen (Rita Avila) will add fuel to the flame. There came a point when Lucing decided to leave Ellice for Marissa, hurt over Belen’s accusations. Since then, the war is no longer just between Marissa and Ellice but all about two Pinedas versus two Cenidozas, with their mothers playing crucial roles in their own clashes.
As complex as it gets, they also outdo each other as the biggest jewelry maker in the country. There was a time when Marissa and Ellice vied for a spot in an international fashion week. In the middle of her presentation, Marissa got a call from Jake (Grae Fernandez) telling her that Lucing was arrested, as planned by Belen. Worried about her mother, Marissa left the meeting, leading to La Sierra’s loss and Cenidoza Pearls’ gain.
Marissa would spoil the fun at the Cenidoza Pearls’ celebration. She came uninvited to threaten Ellice and demand her to back out from the fashion week. However, Ellice wouldn’t give up the deal she just won.
Ellice’s victory, however, will not last long. She would find out that Marissa already owns almost half of Cenidoza Pearls. Hope (Kira Balinger) and Gabriel (Sam Milby) are also growing closer with Jake, all the more blowing her rage.
Ellice filed for a temporary restraining order against Jake to drive her away from Hope, knowing he is also a spawn of Marissa’s vengeance. The incident sparked another scuffle and exchange of scathing insults.
The next revelations fanned Marissa and Ellice’s rivalry even more. The Pinedas learned that their family’s downfall was planned by Cenidoza patriarch Jorge (Lito Pimentel), who outsmarted them in the past. The feud would extend to a series of courtroom battles and fierce confrontations after.
Ending this list is the scene where Marissa’s camp rushed Hope to the hospital after she suddenly passed out. Ellice arrived at Hope’s room and saw her enemies inside, stirring her wrath and a violent showdown.
