You may call them ‘lucky’ for being cast and handed major roles in this year’s biggest and most trending primetime drama. Yet, Grae Fernandez and Kira Balinger prove that more than just kismet, they have a strong drive, competent acting skills, and natural chemistry that make them worthy of being dubbed as the “next big love team.”
Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin is the biggest plot twist in Grae and Kira’s 2020. Just being assigned to a project during the pandemic already brings them a heap of happiness. But working for a grand drama alongside some of the industry’s finest gems takes the joy much, much higher.
When teased about their chemistry, the young pair gives credit to their directors, comparing themselves to game players listening to their coaches. Kira confessed that she feels kilig while taking their scenes. Meanwhile, Grae showered his leading lady with compliments.
According to Director FM Reyes, it was JRB Creative Production Head, Julie Anne R. Benitez, who saw the tandem’s gifts and kilig potential. He further lauded their depth as young actors, their brilliance and “pure hearts.” Grae and Kira seem wise for their age, evident in how they mount realism to their scenes and keep up with the seniors.
Adding more spice to the show is desirable leading man Joseph Marco playing Avel, who has more depth and mystery in him, so viewers need to watch out for explosive revelations in the succeeding episodes.
Joseph also recently joined the international cast for a crime-thriller series filmed by Asian content creators. Setting his foot in the international acting arena, he learned a lot about discipline and new techniques that he would apply to all his projects.
Another addition to the cast is veteran actress Rita Avila who is up for intense onscreen with Maricel Soriano. Rita, who said ‘yes’ to this project in the blink of an eye, is thrilled to be working with no less than the ever-generous Diamond Star.
It would be interesting to know how Direk FM feels working with his actress wife. He said he and Rita keep a professional dynamics on the set, no traces of husband-and-wife special treatment. He further lauded his wife for being respectful and a ‘wise’ actress.
On her part, Rita keeps her acting anchored on her director’s coaching, calling them the captains that envision the whole map. And thirty years into her stellar career, she remains teachable and she prepares hard for every role she takes.
