Maricel Soriano spreads positive vibes through her consistent and amusing uploads on her YouTube channel. Her recent vlog, for instance, contains intriguing revelations about her ‘firsts’.

Taking on the ‘Game of Firsts,’ the veteran actress looked back on her first movie titled “My Heart Belongs to Daddy” under Sampaguita Pictures. This was her first role as well. She was six years old then, and she played baby sister to Tirso Cruz III, “Ako ‘yung kapatid niya na love na love niya tapos namatay [‘yung character ko]. Tamang- tama, si Tita De Villa, siya ‘yung naglagay ng sanggol sa doorstep nina Tirso Cruz III, at noong lumaki, si Snooky [Serna] na.” Also in the film were Ven Medina, Norma Blancaflor, and Aurora Salve.

While she still remembers her first movie so vividly to this day, she can hardly recall her first teleserye and asked her fans to comment in case they know.

The Diamond Star also spilled a bit on her first relationships, without dropping names. She said the first guy she rejected became her childhood sweetheart, “Mabait ‘yon, napakabait.” She further hinted that the guy belongs to the same squad as Tonton Gutierrez back in the day.

Asked her first real-life kiss, she only quipped, “Bading na siya ngayon.” As for her first on-screen kiss, she said it was William Martinez for the film “Kaya Kong Abutin Ang Langit” in 1984. “Sabi ko, ‘Huwag kang loloko-loko, ha? ‘Pag lumoko-loko ka, alam mo na ang gagawin ko sa’yo.’ May mga pananakot ako sa kanya kaya behave na behave,” recalled Maricel, who we last saw on TV via Kapamilya series Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin.

Like most of us, she’d rather forget about her first heartbreak, “Bata pa ako niyan. Hindi ko pa nga naiintindihan kung ano ‘yun, ‘di ba? Syempre, ngayong meron ka nang edad, mas alam mo na, ay, wala pala ‘yun.”

Her first celebrity crush was Richard Gere, then, it became Brad Pitt.

The multi-awarded actress also gave us a glimpse into her daily routine. She starts her day spiritually since the first text she gets daily is mostly prayers from talent manager Dolor Guevarra.

Showbiz’s ‘Inay Maria’ is an animal lover. She has pets at home, and the first one was a Japanese Spitz she got from film producer Manny Valera’s sibling. “Sobrang bait na dog pero nangangagat ‘yun ‘pag lalapit ka sa kama ko o hindi kaya ki-kiss ka sa akin. Naku, hindi pwede! Sobrang guarded na guarded niya ako.”

In relation to that, she revealed crying over the film “Benji” which is about an orphaned dog, “The whole movie iyak ako nang iyak… Basta mga tungkol sa animals naiiyak ako talaga.”

Next category: music! Maricel mentioned “One Hello” and “One Day I’ll Fly,” both of which were performed by Randy Crawford, are the first songs that come to her mind, “Kasi ‘di ba life begins with one hello? Tapos, one day, you’ll fly away.”

She let fans in on her most treasured friendships as well. According to the showbiz icon, Roderick Paulate is the first friend she’d like to eat out with, “Hingahan ko ng mga sama ng loob ‘yan. Nakakapag-open up ako kay Dick.”

The first showbiz friend she’d invite for a drink would have to be Epy Quizon, “Mas matanda ako diyan pero parang siya ang mas matanda sa akin pagdating sa ganyan kasi may mga advice agad siya sa akin.”

As for the showbiz friend she’d ask to take a vacation with, the first one to pop up in her mind was Sylvia Sanchez, “’Yan ang friend ko na pwede kong yayain magbakasyon at sasabihin niya, ‘Halika na! Kelan mo ba gusto? Ngayon o bukas?’ Laging ready!”
