It’s indeed every fan’s dream to not only see their idols up close and have photos taken with them, but to develop personal relationships with them as well. While this is seemingly impossible to many of us, there are fangirls and/or fanboys who are lucky enough to be able to make this dream come true, just like Vice Ganda who’s able to create a cordial connection with his ultimate idol and Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin star Maricel Soriano.

From being a mere avid fan of the Diamond Star, he has been considered by her as one of her beloved anak-anakan in the industry, who she supports and protects at all cost as if they are biologically connected.

On her birthday celebration in Magandang Buhay in 2019, the It’s Showtime host was one of the special guests invited to surprise her and to pay tribute to her colorful and prolific personal and professional life. He reminisced how their unexpected friendship began from his simple wish to have a picture with her during the filming of one of her ABS-CBN programs a few years ago, up to the present that they’re almost inseparable and treat each other as family.
