LINYAHAN: Ellice, Marissa end war in Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin’s ‘heart-stealing ending’

As we’ve witnessed a lot of intense scenes and scorching confrontations throughout the successful run of Ang Sa Iyo ay Akin in the past seven months, avid viewers were arguably delighted to see that Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria) and Ellice (Iza Calzado) finally put an end to their seemingly incessant battle in the ‘heart-stealing ending’.

As soon as the video of her and Avel (Joseph Marco) having an ‘intimate momen’t at the hospital hallway went viral online, an infuriated Marissa immediately stormed into Ellice’s office and confronted her.

Marissa vented out.

Ellice indirectly denied her allegation and reminded her of the past mistake she did. “Ano bang pinagsasasabi mo, Marissa?

This provoked Marissa and attempted to assault Ellice. But Avel was quick and strong enough to stop her, so she just went on to tell her, “Kaya mo ‘to ginagawa dahil ako ang kinampihan ng mag-ama mo, hindi ba?

Since both of them were eager to topple one another down, they sought the help of two different people to make it possible – Marissa reached out to Caesar, while Ellice persuaded Marissa’s spy, Chona (Tart Carlos), to testify against her boss at the trial of the espionage case she filed against her.

While Marissa and Ellice were having an argument outside the court, little did they know that Caesar and his righthand Red (Manuel Chua) were observing them from the rooftop of a building and holding a gun aimed at Marissa.

Unexpectedly, it was Lucing (Maricel Soriano) who got shot when he pulled the trigger. Blue (Nico Antonio) was able to spot them and immediately moved in front of Marissa and Lucing, thus catching the fatal shot that was supposedly for his boss-slash-friend.

They rushed both Lucing and Blue to the hospital to save their lives, but he wasn’t able to get revived. He used his remaining energy and breath to remind Marissa of his vow to her many years ago, as well as how much he loved her.

Ma’am, sabi ko naman sa’yo, ibibigay ko ang buhay ko para sa’yo,” he told her as she continued to encourage him to fight for his life. “Ma’am, mahal kita” were his last words before finally losing his breath.

As she checked Blue’s body in the morgue, Marissa tearfully expressed her gratitude to him for his unconditional love and support for her all throughout.

Then she went on to ask for his forgiveness as her vengeful schemes cost his life and promised that his death wouldn’t be put to waste because she will make sure that Caesar could no more hurt anybody.

Meanwhile, Gabriel (Sam Milby) took care of his drunk wife Ellice as he saw her passed out when he went back to their home to get some stuff. Belen (Rita Avila) tried to shoo him away, but he reprimanded her that it was him who has the responsibility to take good care of Ellice since he’s her husband. While she’s asleep, he told her, “Kahit anong kailangan mo, gagawin ko. Ililigtas kita. I promise you, I’ll never, ever, ever give up on you again. I love you so much.”

Belen uttered as Gabriel prepared Ellice’s food. This piqued him and irately told her, “With all due respect, Mrs. Ceñidoza, ako ang asawa niya. And I have an obligation na iligtas siya, lalo na sa mga taong sumisira sa kanya.

As Belen kept on blaming him and their daughter Hope (Kira Balinger) for what happened to Ellice, he argued, “Kailangan namin ng oras para mag-isip kung ano ang dapat naming gawin. At kayo, ano ang ginawa n’yo? Sinamantala n’yo ang kahinaan ng anak n’yo at ginawa n’yo siyang halimaw tulad mo!

On the other hand, Marissa courageously went all by herself in an abandoned warehouse to meet Caesar. As he was about to shoot her, Avel suddenly came at Caesar’s side, pointing his gun at him and asked him to put down the gun in his hand. The latter heeded, but eventually tried to take the former’s gun, which ensued to a fisticuff. Marissa attempted to help Avel, but Red appeared and grabbed her. A two-way fight emerged between the two tandems, which only halted when the police arrived and arrested Caesar and Red.

The following day, the altercation between Belen and Gabriel continued as Ellice tried to drive away her husband as soon as she woke up. But he refused, telling her and Belen that nobody has the right to do it to him since it’s his house and that he would fight for her and their marriage no matter what it takes.

Wala ka nang karapatan sa kanya because you failed as her husband,” she snidely told him.

Ever since you came you’ve done nothing – nothing but fuel her anger at suportahan siya sa paghihiganti niya.

And finally, Gabriel was able to acquire sufficient evidences regarding his mother-in-law’s corrupt deeds in the company with the help of Agatha (Aya Fernandez), who handed him the financial report of Cenidoza Pearls. He gave it to Ellice as soon as he got home, but she declined. As he told them that it contained proofs of Belen’s illegal financial transactions, Ellice got appalled and checked the files herself.

Belen tried to defend herself and begged her daughter to not believe him to no avail.

As she angrily told her to leave, Ellice added, “At ang perang ninakaw mo, iyong-iyo na.

As Gabriel and Hope bade farewell to his family after staying with them for a while, Ellice unexpectedly appeared in front of them and began to emotionally deliver her apology and confession for everyone, especially to her husband and daughter.

Kung meron man akong nasabing nakasakit sa inyo, I’m sorry.

While everyone was convinced, Gabriel’s eldest sister Sonya (Desiree del Valle) was seemingly skeptical about it. The same went for Marissa, who fiercely greeted Ellice as soon as she, Gabriel, and Hope arrived at their home to do the same. Instead of showing appreciation and acceptance to what Ellice had said just like what Lucing did, Marissa questioned the sincerity of her intentions and apology.

Kung may nakakaalam kung gaano ka kasakim, ako ‘yon,” she said. Lucing and Jake (Grae Fernandez) tried to persuade her that Ellice was indeed sincere, but she firmly believed otherwise.

At the thanksgiving party hosted by Gabriel’s family, everyone was shocked to see an uninvited guest – Caesar – who held Hope as hostage. As Ellice pleaded him to free her daughter and go against her instead, he revealed how she double-crossed him and actually plotted to also kill Marissa.

Hope was able to let go of Caesar, which gave an opportunity for Gabriel to take the gun away from him, but failed. As Marissa saw Caesar point his gun at Ellice, Marissa immediately ran towards her direction and was the one who caught the bullet. Avel was quick to act and quickly fired shots at Caesar that led to his death.

This was what Lucing told Ellice as they waited for Marissa to gain consciousness at the hospital, which made the latter break down and compelled her to confess about her involvement in the crimes committed by Caesar to the authorities.

When Hope asked her mother why she did it, she retorted, “Matagal na akong tumakas sa mga kasalanan ko na pinagbayaran ni Marissa. This punishment, it’s long overdue. Kailangan ko nang harapin ito at tanggapin, so you can be proud of me.”

As they once again faced each other at the trial of her cases, Ellice had the chance to talk to Marissa before entering the room. I’m sorry.”

And eight years later, their paths once again crossed unexpectedly. As Ellice noted how a lot of things in the world has changed, Marissa told her that there were still those that didn’t change.

However, Ellice still believed that they would see each other again because of Jake and Hope, and hoped that it’s still possible for them to rekindle their friendship when the right time comes.

Marissa and Ellice may not be able to rekindle the lovely friendship they used to have, but avid viewers of Ang Sa Iyo ay Akin are arguably delighted that justice, peace, and forgiveness prevailed in the end and there’s hope that they could be friends again someday.
