Cardo Dalisay just never runs out of bad guys to clean up. The latest addition to the antagonists’ line up is Juan and he has already caused so much trouble which includes planting evidence against General Delfin Borja (Jaime Fabregas). When the cameras are turned off, however, Romnick Sarmenta is having the time of his life as a part of the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano cast.
“Isa na yata ito sa pinaka magaan na set,” he revealed about the primetime series. They are usually busy preparing and shooting scenes, but the hard work is enjoyable thanks to his co-stars. Romnick described them as fun and kind. Everyone is just excited to be on set.
The Kapamilya actor was first offered a role on FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano while he was still on the primetimes series Halik which starred Jericho Rosales, Yam Concepcion, Sam Milby, and Yen Santos. But Juan’s entrance was on hold since Judy Ann Santos’ character had just been introduced. “Naintindihan ko naman na hindi pwedeng pagsabay-sabayin,” he said. The wait actually lasted for months. At one point, he thought that his part was cancelled. Eventually, he got the call and was told that he had a scene to shoot.
Prior to this Romnick met Coco Martin on the set of a different project. Coco was part of the cast while Romnick was just passing by. There was also when Romnick thanked Coco on Instagram for granting a wish for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The latter replied to say that they should work together. Now, that chance has finally come.
“First time kong makatrabaho si Coco. First time ko siyang makasama nang matagal, makakwentuhan nang matagal. At hindi naman ako nagkamali,” he said. The two talented actors have talked about a backstory for Juan and they promise that his true character will slowly unfold throughout the course of the show. “Sa tingin ko lalo kayong maiinis,” he teased.
So, do not miss a single episode FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, weeknights on Primetime Bida.
