FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano has seen a long list of talented stars become part of their cast and the most recent addition is none other than Judy Ann Santos! As Jane, there is no doubt that she will be a memorable member of this Primetime family.
According to the actress, the main reason she accepted the role is to help spread mental health awareness. It is a topic that is not widely recognized, which is why the public does not wholly understand the seriousness of this condition. “Basically, it’s just me saying na don’t judge mga people na may pinagdadaanan,” she explained.
In an attempt to properly address the issue, they had to conduct extensive research. On Judy Ann’s part, she watched a lot of documentaries. “Whatever they [viewers] see in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, it’s something that we all worked so hard in researching this type of disorder,” she promised. As a result, the topic requires the use of medical terms, “since it’s mental awareness, we don’t want them to see na parang ginawa lang ‘yung character just because.”
When asked about the challenges that she faced in this portrayal, she answered, “lahat ng challenges nasa role na ‘yun.” Admittedly, Jane seems creepy at first. But Judy Ann is more than willing to see how far she can push herself, “it’s something that I haven’t done for my 32 years in this industry.” Aside from her enthusiasm, director and lead actor Coco Martin has also made the whole experience fun and helpful.
“He’s the captain of the ship,” she described her co-star. He is responsible and knows exactly what he wants. The way he delivers his vision can be easily understood by everyone. “If you see and look through his eyes, kung ano ‘yung gusto niya para sa programa basically ‘yun ang gusto niya para sa lahat ng mga taong nagtatrabaho behind FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” she stated.
Judy Ann Santos has witnessed the level of hard work and respect that the cast and staffs show. All of this only proves how dedicated they are to this Primetime series, “I salute every single person behind this series.”
