Just as how she surprised us with her exciting entrance in the top-rating action-drama series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano last month, premier Kapamilya actress Judy Ann Santos shocked as anew with her heart-rending, tragic exit in the August 19 episode.
Playing the role of a woman inflicted with multiple personality disorder named Jane, avid supporters of the Teleserye Queen and the show were all anticipating if she would be an ally or an enemy. As her identity got unraveled and her backstory was revealed, it turned out that she’s both, for she had four completely different personalities within her – the amiable Jane, the childish Lovely, the feisty Maureen, and the protective “Kuya”.
From being a victim of harassment by one of her customers in her job as a prostitute, she eventually became a notorious perpetrator of those men who would try to harm her.
After spending a lot of time in probing the series of killings and hunting down the real culprit, the leads and pieces of evidence gleaned by Police S/Insp. Ricardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) and his Task Force Agila all pointed out to Jane.
As they tried to capture and persuade her to surrender in the August 20 episode, they witnessed how her personality switched from one persona to another in a snap, which absolutely appalled him. From the distressed Jane telling everyone that she’s not the criminal and the tearful Lovely pleading not to hurt her “Ate Jane” for it was their “Kuya” who’s the one behind the heinous crimes, she transformed into Maureen, then to Kuya who then attempted to shoot Cardo.
Seeing her reaction, Amir (Arron Villaflor), immediately stopped her by shooting her multiple times to her death. Before letting out her last breath, she uttered “Salamat, Sir Cardo. Patawarin n’yo ako. Patawarin n’yo ako.”

As she bade farewell to the challenging character she carried for more than two weeks, Judy Ann expressed her gratitude and admiration towards Coco by posting a series of photos of them together and captioned it, “Salamat @mr.cocomartin for the chance and trust you have given me. Your passion and love for your craft is undeniable. Kahit tawa ka ng tawa sa mga eksena natin, nakita ko kung gaano ka-importante sa’yo ang trabaho mo at pamilya mo. Sana nabigyang-buhay ko ang papel na binigay mo sa akin. Till our next project. Sana by then, na-experience mo [nang] makapagpahinga at enjoyin ang mga naipundar mo. Bilang ate ng 4 na linggo sa’yo, masaya [ako] at proud ako sa’yo. Maraming salamat Cardo Dalisay.”
In a separate post, Juday also shared the fun moments she had with the cast and crew and wrote in the caption how overwhelmed and thankful she is to the wonderful opportunity entrusted to her by Dreamscape Entertainment and divulged how this role made her sleepless for a few nights. She also called for everyone’s cooperation in breaking the stigma towards people with this kind of mental ailment and signed Jane, Lovely, Maureen, at Kuya off.
