Nothing would come close to the heart-melting, floating-in-the-air kind of bliss that a first love brings. Lito (Richard Gutierrez) and Alyana (Yassi Pressman) of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano were not strangers to these feelings when they fell for each other in their hometown a lifetime ago. As they cross each other’s paths once again, let us relive the most ‘kilig’ moments shared by the childhood friends turned teenage sweethearts.
This Kapamilya Toplist opens with Lito and Alyana’s dreamy picnic date at a scenic hill in the province. They talked about their dreams, and by the sounds of it, we knew their different thirst for life would soon open up a chain of conflict. She had big dreams of following her father’s footsteps as a journalist. Lito, on the other hand, wanted it simple just by giving his father fishing equipment and his mother sewing tools. Lito didn’t know how to dream for himself, cringing away from the poor living circumstances.
Their different social status did not stop them from giving in to their heightened, youthful emotions. He handed her a handkerchief embellished with their names in a true ‘puppy love’ style, followed by a heartfelt confession. “Simula pa lang pagkabata, minahal na kita,” he said.
Add to that the scene where Alyana dropped by Lito’s house to give his family a basket of freshly picked fruits. The new couple stared silently into each other’s eyes and exchanged sweet, little smiles. Nothing much was said but their actions spoke loud volumes of love.
In another scene, Lito and Alyana shared romantic sun-kissed moments one afternoon in the highlands. They chased each other, played with kites, and let the sunset witnessed their blossoming love. The young pair held each other’s hands and exchanged glances all the while gazing at the mountains as though dreaming about their future life together.
Unfortunately, the happy moments had to come to an end. Alyana’s family had to leave for Manila, so her father Mang Teddy (Joel Torre) can pursue bigger opportunities as a journalist. Alyana will have to finish her studies in the city as well. The feelings of fear, melancholy, and love combined into a heated argument.
They, nonetheless, patched things up on the day when Alyana left the province. “Kahit malayo tayo sa isa’t isa, mamahalin pa rin kita,” she professed. Lito vowed to wait for her and hold on to her promises.
Now that Alyana is back to her hometown, how will her reunion with Lito affect her marriage with Cardo (Coco Martin)? Find out in the next episodes of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano on Kapamilya Channel.
