The love between Lia (Jane De Leon) and Albert (Geoff Eigenman) had a promising start. However, this changed over time due to Albert’s obsession with prestige and power. But despite the series of rejection, fights and misunderstandings, and all the red flags, she remained in love with him. In this Toplist from FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, we rounded up the scenes that prove Lia’s unwavering devotion to Albert.
Lia started to notice the changes in Albert’s behavior since the failed mission against Cardo (Coco Martin)’s group. He’s always grumpy and harsh towards Lia to the point of humiliating her in front of their comrades. He downplays her abilities and contribution to the team. His aggressive behavior is no longer attuned to her sensible, wise judgment. While she opts to be analytical, he is driven by emotions. This often results in clashing opinions, although she is always the first one to compromise.
Lia also notices her fiancé’s lack of interest as though they’re strangers to each other. There was a scene wherein she dropped by his office to greet him for their anniversary. But Albert was annoyed than pleased with Lia’s little act of love.
Their relationship has gone cold. It was lonely and frustrating. Lia knows that and their colleagues would notice as well. Yet, she kept on fighting for it. In the next scene, Lia made an effort to drop by Albert’s house, bringing him food she prepared. Albert did not like the surprise and he seemed unhappy to see her. He said he’s not in the mood to celebrate, much less talk with her.
Lia opened up about her frustrations. She tried to remind Albert that the essence of law enforcement is service and not prestige. She’s scared that his thirst for promotion is starting to corrupt his morals. But he refused to listen and walked out on her.
Lia was crying while reminiscing about Albert’s marriage proposal. A flashback scene shows Albert telling Lia about his career plans and making a promise to work hard for their future. However, with a recent betrayal, their relationship has hit rock bottom.
