Of all the villains who tried to bring Cardo (Coco Martin)’s downfall, Juan (Romnick Sarmenta) can be considered as one of the most cunning, proven by his sleek entrance into the Task Force Agila’s world. He masked himself with a new identity as Lemuel, a soft-spoken guy from the province, a sharp contrast to his true ill-tempered nature. To highlight his real persona, let’s take a look back on the times when Juan displayed his cantankerous side as seen in these moments from FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
The viewers have surely gotten used to foreseeing violence and argument every time Juan shows up in a scene. The sidekick and drug lord wannabe takes advantage of his connections to threaten other syndicate groups. Knowing that he has the First Lady as backer, Juan doesn’t hesitate to slaughter potential business partners once triggered.
He thinks too highly of himself and he is not scared to clash against the key players in the country’s syndicate business. A scene in this montage shows Juan laying down his own rules in a negotiation with Renato (John Arcilla) and Jacob (Marc Abaya), trying to act as Lily (Lorna Tolentino)’s trusted friend when he is just, in fact, a mere henchman. Prior to that event, Juan tried to defy Lily’s instructions, saying he disdains Renato’s group and he does not want to deal with them.
As the game plan continues, Juan boldly meddles with his teammate’s decisions by imposing his impossible demands. He ordered Renato to grant him a major role in cooking the syndicate’s new drug den even though his task is solely to follow instructions. This resulted in an inevitable face-off with the equally irascible Jacob. If it weren’t for Lily and Renato’s intrusion, the quarrel would’ve flared up into a violent encounter.
Done with feigning kindness towards Cardo and the good guys, the traitor Juan revealed his true nature by engaging in an intense match against the Task Force Agila. He showered Cardo’s house with bullets one evening as a way to exact revenge. Juan was also handed the task to slay the stalwart cop. And until their last battle, Juan’s temper brought him no good. He vowed to never get defeated but with his poor game plan easily triggered by the slightest attack, Juan is most likely to die under Cardo’s bullets.
