“Keep your friends close and your enemies closer,” played in Juan (Romnick Sarmenta)’s mind when he decided to reside in a compound occupied by Cardo (Coco Martin) and the Task Force Agila in order to spy on them. This occurred right after conniving with Lily (Lorna Tolentino).
Juan masked himself with a new identity as Lemuel, a soft-spoken guy from the province, a sharp contrast to his true nature. His character evolved into a cunning traitor who wishes to double-cross anyone that blocks his way. To highlight how evil he is, let’s take a look back at the times when Juan tricked the good guys in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
To make his goody-goody act believable, Juan would often coat his face with pathetic vulnerability like when he showed up wounded after a brawl against a rival syndicate. Everyone from Cardo’s camp was moved with pity as he narrated a false account about a group of robbers ganging up on him. As soon as Juan closed the door to his room, thoughts about the gullible enemies cast him a smile of mischief.
While everyone’s busy putting up a surprise for Delfin (Jaime Fabregas)’s birthday, Juan sneaked inside the de Leon residence to plant evidences against the celebrant. He tucked packs of illegal drugs, bundles of money, and firearms all over Delfin’s room pertinent to the graft and corruption charges forged by Lily. The scheme resulted in Delfin’s arrest and jeopardy.
Yet, the evilness did not stop there. Still as part of his conspiracy with the First Lady, Juan silenced the bribed witnesses on Delfin’s case using Cardo’s service firearm. As he shot one of the witnesses to death, the masked Juan uses Cardo’s identity.
But, perhaps the most intense match of all happened when Juan started wreaking havoc on Cardo and Alyana (Yassi Pressman)’s relationship, still as part of his schemes. Cardo’s absence overnight made his plans a lot easier to pursue. He then lured a distressed Alyana into believing that her husband was having an affair with Clarice (Rhen Escano) and that the secret lovers certainly spent the night together. Cardo arrived just in time and caught Juan backstabbing him. That moment marked the end of Juan aka Lemuel’s undercover game plan against the Task Force Agila.
But, even until the end, Juan continued the ploy by making himself appear as the defenceless underdog in a brawl against Cardo. He left looking pathetic but only to return that same day bringing high-calibre firearms. Juan concealed his identity with a helmet and showered the Dalisay residence with bullets, leading to a shootout between him and the Task Force Agila. Unfortunately, Juan was able to escape without the task force knowing that he was the perpetrator.
How will the war between Juan and Cardo come to an end? Watch out for the upcoming episodes of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
