Kapamilya Confessions: Know who among these heartthrobs Aya Fernandez will “Like, Follow or DM” in fun challenge

If she has captured Cardo’s heart on FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, who are we not to get smitten by her charms, too?

Dr. Audrey Mante continues to endear viewers on each episode of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, and the actress who plays the role, former beauty queen Aya Fernandez, has also begun to attract more fans and followers with her much awaited appearances.

This is quite evident in this edition of Kapamilya Confessions, as Aya answers questions from her growing number of fans, talking about her transition from being a MYX VJ to Kapamilya actress, the possibility of joining beauty pageants again, and working on the set of the country’s top action drama, among others.

First, she took on the “Like, Follow, DM” Challenge wherein she would say if she would like, follow or DM actors whose names she would read on the livestream screen. Find out if she would indeed like, follow or DM such stars as Daniel Padilla, Enrique Gil, Arjo Atayde, McCoy de Leon, Donny Pangilinan, Nash Aguas, Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, JM de Guzman, Paulo Avelino, Tony Labrusca, Jake Cuenca. JC de Vera, Joshua Garcia, Xian Lim, former Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin co-stars Sam Milby and Joseph Marco, and current FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano co-actors Coco Martin and John Prats.

Answering fan questions, Aya first said she was honored and thankful to be part of the cast of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, a show she had been following and supporting for a very long time. On joining beauty pageants again, she said she was not closing doors on it, but her current priority is her acting career, wherein she is working on three projects – FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, the upcoming thriller Viral, and a movie.

Asked if she misses being a VJ, Aya said she does, mentioning that being a MYX VJ was her first job at ABS-CBN a few months after finishing her internship. On the transition from being a VJ to actress, Aya said the challenge lies in projecting the energy to the audience or viewers, further emphasizing that she had to control the kind of energy that is felt even beyond the event venue. She said as an actress she had to contain that energy by way of expressive acting that is “mata-mata lang.”

On her ultimate dream, Aya said she wishes to continue bringing wonderful stories to Filipino audiences as an actress, host or producer in the entertainment industry. She would then describe her experience working during the lock-in tapings of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. Aya said producers have been strict in implementing quarantine protocols, such as wearing masks and following social distancing rules. Further asked if she felt pressured in being part of the cast full of acting veterans. She did admit feeling the pressure, but added it was a in a nice way, saying her co-actors have been very encouraging and supportive, and never let her felt that she was a newbie. On her takeaways from portraying her character, the medical practitioner Audrey, Aya said it is about the passion and mission of doctors, who need all the support and help from everyone amidst the pandemic.

On handling bashers, Aya said she has been fortunate not to have experienced any negative comments yet personally, although she did receive some hurtful remarks when she played the antagonist Agatha on Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin
