Aya Fernandez reacts to her scenes in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, reveals co-stars’ welcome prank

Those who needed further motivation to not miss an episode of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano have found one in Aya Fernandez. Besides her unexpected chemistry with Coco Martin aka Cardo Dalisay, the newcomer continues to charm everyone with her effective portrayal of a stunning and big-hearted doctor, Audrey Mante.  Here’s Aya re-watching her trending scenes from the beloved action-drama series via Kapamilya React.

The first clip was taken from a drama-heavy confrontation at the Mante abode. Audrey, her mom Doctor Amalia (Cristina Gonzales) and younger sister Lia (Jane De Leon) discovered their patriarch Fernando (Christian Vasquez)’s infidelity, leading to an intense family drama.

Here’s a fun fact from Aya: “Nung second take, si Jane nadapa. Iyak pa rin kaming lahat pero si Tita Cring [Cristina] natawa. Tapos, wala, natawa na tuloy kaming lahat din.“ It was so heartrending, Aya carried the traces of pain after the take, “Damang-dama ko ‘yung sakit hanggang sa pag-uwi namin sa hotel parang bigat na bigat pa rin ako.“

In building chemistry that transcends between takes, the Mante family makes sure to bond and intently talk about their dynamics.

The second clip, where Audrey and Cardo shared an honest talk, spotlights Aya’s dramatic abilities that shine without much embellishment – just plain emotions. It felt so genuine they did it in a single take with adlibs. “Nag-off script kami, naging iba ‘yung batuhan namin pero mas ramdam naman.”

Aya is honored to work with no less than the Primetime King on her second teleserye stint. “Napaka-grateful ko na he’s the kind of person who would teach you intently. Kahit ‘di ako magtanong, naglalaan siya ng oras para turuan ako sa eksena, technical, internal, strategies, at kung paano mapapabuti ‘yung sarili ko sa industriya.”

And for a young soul with a strong thirst for learning, the set of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is truly a great training ground. The casual and honest discussions with Coco and veterans like Jaime Fabregas, Michael De Mesa, and Angel Aquino give Aya a wider perspective about her craft.

“Always be hungry for growth. Always be hungry for improvement, not only for the betterment of yourself but for the betterment of the society, community, and the nation. Laging mayroon kang pinag-aalayan ng sining na ginagawa mo,” she said of the biggest lesson she learned from the cast.

Proving her sincere love for her craft, Aya would report on set equipped with knowledge about her character, particularly the life of a health care worker. “Nagbasa-basa po ako ng buhay ng mga medical frontliners para alam ko kung ano talaga ‘yung a day in the life ng isang doktor.”

There was pressure working with veteran stars but she used this as an encouragement to paint a striking character.

She also made an effort to get to know her co-stars and bond with them, “Importante ‘yun para sa chemistry sa harap ng camera.” Here’s another fun fact: Aya received a welcome prank set up by the boys. “Pinaghandaan at in-effortan nila ‘yung pagpa-prank sa akin. Nagpanggap sila na merong drug addict daw doon sa mga cast. Tapos natakot ako siyempre. Tapos kunwari meron magsusuntukan.” Aya’s apparent fear was everybody’s cue to reveal the prank.

With her hunger for growth, Ayan will further push her boundaries. “Tingnan natin baka mapasabak rin sa action si Doctor Audrey Mante,” teased the beauty queen-turned-actress.

Don’t miss an episode of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
