The life of Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) is dedicated to eliminating evil and corruption in the country, and he will not stop until the last villain is crushed, although it seems like an endless duel between the good and evil.
But however the suffering, Cardo will never be scared to confront multiple enemies which now includes the arrogant and power-hungry Black Ops commander Albert (Geoff Eigenman), whose biggest weapons to elicit hate are lies and conceit. Albert carried ‘gigil’ the moment he appeared on the long-running Kapamilya series. He was introduced as the Black Ops captain whose biggest mission is to bag honor and a higher position. To do so, he must eliminate the Task Force Agila and rescue Clarice (Rhen Escano) as part of a deal with the latter’s father, Arturo (Tirso Cruz III).
His first duel with Cardo marked an all-time high record of 80, 000 concurrent live viewers on YouTube. In that episode, Albert showed no mercy towards the opponents, even killing Alyana (Yassi Pressman) despite his comrade and girlfriend Lia (Jane De Leon)’s insistence that Alyana is an innocent civilian. He also displayed arrogance when he refused to have his wound checked, not wanting to break his tough guy image.
The annoying ‘yabang’ has become Albert’s villainous trademark since. He makes himself stand out among the show’s kontrabidas trough shooting his mouth off. He’s the enemy who doesn’t run out of self-confidence even amid a series of failures. Instead of owning up to his mistakes, Albert would manipulate the situation to spotlight his fake heroism.
In a scene, he told his team to spread the word about Cardo’s death despite zero evidence to prove this claim. He asked one officer to publish a press release about their successful mission even when Arturo pointed out his failure.
Albert had another taste of humiliation when an informant called to report about the sighting of Cardo and the Task Force Agila in a hospital. He refused to request for back up, hoping to appear like a hero in case they manage to hunt Cardo down. But they arrived too late, and worse, Clarice was already dead. To save his reputation and evade Arturo’s wrath, Albert tweaked the situation. He told Arturo that Cardo killed Clarice and the Black Ops were able to just retrieve her body.
More than his bad character as a cop, Albert is worse as a boyfriend. He used to embarrass Lia in front of their team and push her away despite her effort to fix their failing relationship. And the reason behind his coldness is his secret affair with Andrea (Aj Raval).
In the recent episodes, Albert faced Lia’s parents to inform them that their daughter was abducted by Cardo. While it was true, Albert stretched the narrative to make himself appear like a hero trying to save Lia.
