We couldn’t imagine any other actor blending the perfect concoction of gripping drama and visually entertaining action than the one and only Primetime King Coco Martin. In this Kapamilya Toplist, we spotlight the savage, death-defying stunts Coco pulled off for his character, Cardo Dalisay, in the teleserye FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
We begin with Cardo’s fire-breathing grit in a match against one of his earliest rivals, Tomas Tuazon (Albert Martinez). A big part of Cardo’s fighting arsenal is his ability to think fast in the midst of danger. In this scene, he managed to escape an explosion while chasing Tomas’ vehicle.
One of Cardo’s trademark action stunts is jumping off tall buildings in spectacular, well-choreographed moves that defy physics. He did it while saving President Oscar Hidalgo (Rowell Santiago) and his family from the bad guys.
Plus, climbing the stairs has never looked so badass until Cardo accelerated his motorcycle up the stairs. Something epic sure happens when Cardo chases enemies in his motorcycle at high speed.
During his ultimate face-off with Homer aka Alakdan (Jhong Hilario), Cardo jumped from a balcony to seize the rebel. A similar stunt happened in the scene where he saved Lily (Lorna Tolentino) from Lazaro (Gardo Versoza)’s henchmen. This time, he added more spice by flipping an enemy’s arm to shoot using the latter’s gun.
Cardo is a human with insane leaping powers shown in a death-defying crossfire with the Black Ops. There’s so much thrill each time Cardo would escape big explosions and a barrage of bullets by jumping off a building. And he lands from one point to another without destroying his handsome appeal.
Viewers of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano can always expect epic fight scenes each time Cardo is fuming with anger, such as when he faced a group of men at a banana plantation. He swerved bullets while swinging from the vines – pure action delivered in a stunning choreography.
In another scene, he played games with the devil, trying to outsmart his enemies Arturo (Tirso Cruz) and Lily (Lorna Tolentino) to save Teddy (Joel Torre) and Diana (Angel Aquino). After a wild shootout, he ordered the Task Force Agila to bomb the place and then jumped off a small cliff just in time to save himself from the explosion.
Lastly, Cardo mounted spectacular action at the Black Ops Headquarters. Cardo went solo, bringing only a rifle and one accomplice, Ramil (Michael De Mesa), with him as he toppled the whole unit down.
