A grandmother’s discipline is simply a sign of love. Lola Flora would never want to see Cardo take the wrong path especially in seeking justice for their loved ones. She stopped him from getting revenge on Joaquin (Arjo Atayde), who killed his twin brother Ador; and Don Emilio (Eddie Garcia), who killed their father Pablo (Tonton Gutierrez).
Lola Flora is the calm to Cardo’s flaring temper. Revenge is tempting when you know you’re innocent. But Lola Flora won’t let Cardo take justice in his own hands. She let the enemies be, confident that truth was on their side. After an attack at the Black Ops headquarters, she scolded him for avenging Alyana (Yassi Pressman)’s death by punishing even the innocent cops.
Lola Flora had so much faith in Cardo. She’s one of the few people who never doubted his innocence despite the accusations. She made time to visit him in prison, brought him food, and made sure he’s being treated right.
She worried a lot about him. She rarely prayed for herself but often for Cardo’s safety. It hurt knowing Cardo was out in his missions fighting all by himself, hence the relief when he saved Delfin (Jaime Fabregas). Yearning, Lola Flora begged to see them. But they couldn’t let her, so she made do with phone calls, all while praying and hoping. Despite the distance, Cardo sure felt Lola Flora’s concern like when she told him to eat on time and avoid exhausting himself at work.
Love was shown when Lola Flora accepted Cardo’s new friends. She never judged them for being ex-convicts or ex-rebels. She was instead thankful for their loyalty toward Cardo.
Lola Flora was Cardo’s motivation to finish his missions, so they can be reunited. In turn, she also takes inspiration from her ‘apo.’ She thanked Cardo for his support during the opening of her small eatery called Flora’s Garden.
While he was going undercover at the Pulang Araw camp, Lola Flora’s only request was for him to come home alive.
To finally reunite with Cardo is her only wish. And he would promise each time. She held on to that promise and until the very end waited for Cardo’s return.
