Beyond the compelling plot that mirrors societal problems and uplifts Filipino family ties, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is lauded for its visually captivating scenes that continue to break viewership records amid the pandemic. In this Kapamilya Toplist, we rounded up the most viewed and trending actions scenes in the long-running Kapamilya teleserye that had our eyes glued to our digital screens.
Cardo (Coco Martin) and his pack returned with a new chapter that took off from a do-or-die gun battle against all their enemies combined –Lily (Lorna Tolentino), Art (Tirso Cruz III), Renato (John Arcilla) and his protégé Jacob (Marc Abaya). The Task Force Agila tried to evade the hands of death while the main villains watched the blow-by-blow action on a screen.
That battle forced Cardo’s team to look for a new hiding place, leading them to Alyana (Yassi Pressman)’s hometown where they met Lito (Richard Gutierrez) – the Good Samaritan turned traitor. Cardo’s group threw punches in a rumble against Lito’s henchmen and ranch workers headed by Turo (Val Iglecias) and it was the first of many more Cardo-Lito matches to come.
The next scene, which signalled the entrance of Albert (Geoff Eigenman) and Lia (Jane De Leon) in the show, garnered an all-time high viewership record of more than 100,000 concurrent live viewers on Kapamilya Online Live via YouTube. In that scene, Cardo’s group was trapped in a life-and-death gun battle against the elite Black Ops as Lito spilled their whereabouts. That face-off took Alyana’s life, igniting Cardo’s new mission to avenge his wife.
Next on our list is the Task Force Agila’s heavy, explosive fight against Art as the latter tried to take his daughter Clarice (Rhen Escano) in exchange of Diana (Angel Aquino) and Teddy (Joel Torre). The Task Force Agila was successful in saving Diana and Teddy, thanks to Cardo’s ploy of having Roxanne (Shaina Magdayao) pretend as Clarice, knowing the opponents can double-cross them anytime. They came prepared with explosives planted all over the place and successfully exhausted the opponents. However, Lily, watching in secret, decided to move and unintentionally killed Clarice in the chase.
Cardo finally faced his newest archnemesis Albert by going solo to a bar, bringing only his rifle plunked in a native ‘bayong.’ Hitting two birds with one stone, Cardo attacked Albert’s group and at the same time spitted trouble on Lara (Bubbles Paraiso)’s squad coincidentally present in the war zone.
The record-breaking streak continued since Cardo held Lia in hostage and they fought side by side against an unidentified group of enemies who attacked the house owned by Teban (Mitoy Yonting) and Pilar (Giselle Sanchez)’s boss, a high-ranking military official with a shady character. Even before he’s able to soak up his victory, Cardo faced another danger with the arrival of Albert and the Black Ops.
Breaking the show’s record again was the episode where Teddy and Virgie (Shamaine Buencamino) faced their deaths in a week-long skirmish between Task Force Agila and Renato’s battalion As Cardo’s group tried to escape, Virgie fell behind and was shot dead. Seething with anger, Teddy grabbed a gun and mindlessly fired back at the opponents, got killed, and fell beside Virgie’s lifeless body.
Following the series of defeats, Task Force Agila was forced to find a new hiding place with the help of Lia, who we know is a Black Ops officer. Don’t miss an episode of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
