From attesting that she’s absolutely beauty and brains through her several beauty pageant gigs and showcasing her hosting, singing, and dancing skills as one of the gorgeous and talented members of It’s Showtime’s all-female group GT, Jessica Marasigan is now poised to display her acting chops through her current stint in the top-rating action drama series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
In the August 23 episode, we witnessed her arrival alongside fellow Pinoy Big Brother alumni Diana Mackey and Franki Russel and introduced herself as SPO2 (Senior Master Sergeant) Lea Singson. Coming from the Special Intelligence Training course of PNP and having worked at Miami Police, the three courageous female police officers are going to be effectual members of PNP-CIDG’s Task Force Agila, Police Director (Major General) Manuel G. Dela Cruz (Rey Malonzo) believes.
But before we get completely bewitched by the allure of SPO2 Singson, let’s get to know first the up-and-rising beautiful actress behind her.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California to Filipino parents, Jessica wanted to become a news anchor and pop culture host, thus she took up a Broadcasting degree in Glendale University.
Just like many of the celebrities we now have in the industry, the 25-year-old stunner’s ticket to show business is by joining the highly successful reality program Pinoy Big Brother. Unlike Franki and Diana who were part of the recently-concluded Otso season, she was one of the housemates of 737 season which was dominated by Miho Nishida and Jimboy Martin. However, due to the untimely death of her grandmother, the “California Dreamgirl of USA” decided to do a voluntary exit to be with her family.
She has joined several beauty pageants back in the States prior to her PBB stint, such as Miss Philippines-USA in 2012, where she finished first runner up, and Binibining Pilipinas-USA in 2013, where she was hailed as the winner.
Despite launching his showbiz career in 2016 as one of the members of GirlTrends, that didn’t stop her from pursuing her beauty queen dream as she tried her luck in two of the most prestigious local pageants.
She was crowned as the Miss Philippines Water (which was equivalent to first runner-up) in the Miss Philippines Earth 2017 and became one of the official candidates for Binibining Pilipinas 2019, making it to the Top 15.
Jessica might have failed to bring home the crown, but we’re certain that that defeat is just the beginning of more exciting and more wonderful things to come for her, especially in the entertainment scene.
Catch her on FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, weeknights on Primetime Bida.
