Fuelled by its commitment to the Filipino audience, Kapamilya series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano continues to keep the good fight and provide viewers quality entertainment. The team embarked on a new milestone by reaching its 5th year of airing, a feat beyond compare despite major roadblocks and crisis surrounding them.
As they celebrate their anniversary, the cast of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is full of gratitude, passion, and grit. Angel Aquino dedicates their work to the Kapamilyas who lost something to the pandemic be it health, a loved one, job, and faith in God and in oneself. There are days when all seem shattered and nothing but the will to survive is left. Yet, no matter how we stumble, life goes on.
Tirso Cruz III takes strength and inspiration from his family and his kababayans’ unbreakable resilience. The veteran actor gushed at how Filipinos, likened to a bamboo tree, manage to bounce back after a storm. “Ang Pilipino parang kawayan, eh. ‘Pag dumaan ang unos, humihiga pero ‘pag lampas nito, muling bumabangon,” he said, adding that the crisis shall pass.
More than anything, as Rowell Santiago put it, faith in God is the potent weapon against any trial. Lorna Tolentino stressed that while the pandemic is a tragedy so huge, let us not forget to remain grateful for the second chance bestowed on us each waking day.
Bianca Manalo likewise underscored the power of prayer. At the end of the day, Filipino resilience grounded on faith is always the antidote to fear such as losing a job and not seeing loved ones for long.
Yassi Pressman, who takes inspiration from her late father, emphasized that a support system is vital. She urged Kapamilyas to help lift each other back to their feet, saying “Basta sama-sama, kaya natin ‘to.”
One of the newest additions to the show, Richard Gutierrez would admit that this year brought us the most terrifying challenges. But through it all, family will always bring out the fighter and cast a smile in us. Michael de Mesa likewise takes inspiration from family especially from his grandchildren and he wishes that things go back to normal.
Unfortunate circumstances may strike but nothing can wind down the Kapamilya spirit. As Team Promdi’s collective sentiment says, “Tuloy ang Laban!”
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano airs weeknights on Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live.
