Ever since it was confirmed that Julia Montes would take part in the sixth year of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, her loyal fans, as well as ardent shippers of her team-up with its lead star Coco Martin, weren’t able to contain their excitement to see her back in action – more than a year after her impeded stint in the weekly action drama 24/7 and six years since the last time she was seen on-screen together with her perennial loveteam partner in Wansapanataym Presents Yamashita’s Treasure.
And her highly anticipated debut in the long-running primetime series finally materialized last Monday, August 23, which absolutely thrilled the viewers. She indeed had a grand and astig entrance, as she was seen driving a big motorbike along the traffic-less roads of Ilocos Sur while cladded in a maong vest, black pants, boots, and sunglasses, with a guitar bag at her back.
While viewers were just given a glimpse of her on the first night, she eventually had speaking lines on the next episode, wherein it was revealed that she’s a vlogger visiting the historical city of Vigan! And in the latest episode on Wednesday, August 25, she was finally given a longer exposure as she went on to document her tour around one of the museums there.
Being introduced as Mara in the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano promos and interviews prior to the commencement of its sixth season, audiences were surely befuddled upon hearing her tell the museum curator that her name is Jennifer Salve, a vlogger exploring the heritage sites in the Philippines and humbly boasted that her channel has already around 11 million subscribers. Thus, he invited her to attend the special event that will be held there the following day, with First Lady Lily Ann Cortez-Hidalgo (Lorna Tolentino) as the guest of honor.
As soon as the curator left her, she continued going around all by herself and began to take odd photos of some portions of the museum. That arguably made some of us assume that she’s definitely not just an ordinary vlogger, but she’s probably up to something and we’re very much excited to find out what will that be in the upcoming episodes. Besides, we have also been looking forward to her meeting with Cardo (Coco Martin) and the whole Task Force Agila that will be surely filled with kilig¸ action, and/or even comedy.
Since a lot of their and the show’s supporters had waited for this, Julia’s first-ever appearance raked in over 4,200 views on Facebook and over 140,000 views on YouTube via the Kapamilya Online Live that can be streamed on the official page and channel of ABS-CBN Entertainment. The topics “JULIA MONTES ON FPJAP”, “#FPJAP6BagongYugto”, and “Mara” also made it to the top trends on Twitter as netizens couldn’t help but gush over her arrival.
The same went for the hashtags used in the next two episodes, namely “#FPJAP6Pagdating” and “FPJAP6Upa”, as well as the tagline “COCOJUL ON FPJAP” Here are some of their rave reactions:
